Next game- Missouri State at Bradley, Wed. 2/6 7:05 pm

I hate when this kind of stuff happens. Often the players of a coach on the hot seat will come out and fight hard for him right after their coach is publically scorned. I hope that doesn't happen here.

The thing about Barry is not surprizing to me as their attendance is way down ; We need to step up and play tonight as I am tired of losing to those guys, tonight"s game is very important to us and hopefully both the players and fans will give 100% effort at defending our homecourt. The other thing I will bring up is the student crowd for our last home game was more then sub-par and this team really needs your support so with only 4 home games left how about showing up in the same numbers that you did for the Ill.State and Mich.State game as you make a huge difference when you attend these games.

I am concerned that all of this will motivate his team to go out and win one for the Coach, we had better be ready. Also, it seems to me from watching the last few games on BUTV that the fans have much more subdued than in the past. I hope that the current winning streak gets everyone back on their feet and screaming at the top of their lungs!!!! This is a must win game, if you are lucky enough to be at the game make an effort to get the place going!!!!

I will be at the game and agree with you that the fans have not been as loud as they should be as we need to treat tonights game as if we were playing Ill.St; I also believe the intro"s are terrible and may be part of the reason why the fans are not as noisy at the start as they were last season.

The new intro is an absolute disgrace. I have a bad feeling that because of the weather that the crowd will be weak, but the student section will be rowdy.

Agree...the new intro is awful but it only lasts a minute or so. Once that is over we need to get in to it. The crowds have been awful this year. I don't understand. You want quiet go to the library.

Agreed the new intro is terrible. That song (using the term very loosely) is like nails on a chalk board to me. Nothing catchy about it, completely un-musical, no melody to speak of, no consistent rhythmic element that the crowd could connect with (clapping to the rhythm, tapping their feet, nodding their heads, something...anything...)...
I sure hope the players like it because it completely disconnects the crowd from being involved during that intro...
The song that played over last year's intro wasn't the greatest thing either, IMO...but at least there was a consistent rhythmic, melodic aspect to it that allowed everyone in the crowd to connect to it a little bit and it all built toward the final image with Ruff...
This year's version has no flow, no build up to the end, nothing in the music that anyone could casually connect with (unless you had that CD in your car and knew the song intimately)...It's just an incoherent, thuggish ramble that goes on for a minute or so, ends awkwardly, and then stumbles into the starting lineup...and because people are so disconnected to what is happening in the arena during the intro video, it tends to really slow and subdue everyone's reaction to the much more familiar song that accompanies the starting lineup introduction...

Just my opinion...

And a good one at that......I admit I'm not the biggest rap fan but that ain't even rap...its cr@p. Good description of the "song" ER. I mean it is unfair to a song to call it a song or even music. Its simply noise. And like you stated its not even GOOD noise.

BU CHANGE the intro......hmmmmm good idea for a thread.

Yeah...I'm not the biggest rap fan, either...but there are a million other rap songs out there that have some melodic or rhythmic aspect that would at least allow the crowd to get familiar enough with the song after a few plays to feel like they could connect with it a little bit...
This mess that they currently play has absolutely no hook in it that anyone can get familiar with...
The whole intro song just reminds me of some awful Under Armor commercial where a middle linebacker is running around in a compression shirt and eye black screaming..."Not in my house!!!...We must defend this house!!!...we must defend this house!!!"...umm, OK, lighten up, Francis.

Unfortunately, for the people who attended the Gameday luncheon that was scheduled at the East Peoria Embassy Suites, they didn't get to hear Barry speak.

If anyone here was at that luncheon, what was said? Who spoke?

Listening to the WMBD broadcast, and apparently, some of the players filled-in to entertain the crowd for the gameday luncehon,
