Good teams Don't lose to Play-In teams in Feb

Amazing how things can change in 3 days. Saturday we were 7-5 and playing for 2nd. Tomorrow at this time we'll likely be tied for 6th and a game out of Thursday. Not sure how to take that, other than now we're closer to the bottom than to the top. It's really frustrating.

Remember when people were discussing how Bradley had such a good shot at winning out or losing just once until the MVC final? Those were the days...

I didnt start the thread!

Sorry - as soon as I said it (I realized my error)....

Suppose I am confused then as to why I am going round and round with you....

Guess I will wait til Chitown takes another "drive-by" hit after I go to bed.

Then tomorrow will be game-on again. ;)

Here's my next drive-by, liberal bias reporting, whatever Macabre wants to call it, comment: I'll rephrase:: good teams don't lose to play-in teams in February.

That's good Chitown.

Haha.

And in the face of the FACTS I provided, you stand by your comment.

LOL!

With that.... the spin stops here.

Got anything to say about Creighton losing at Evansville?

Or do they have one to spare?

Yeah, that was pretty pathetic, but they always seem to have problems with them in their house. But this late in the season when they are chasing ISU for second place, that's inexcusable, I don't care how hard it is to win on the road in the Valley. Evansville has been tough though this year, and came close to winning about three or four games early in the season that they lost. But still, Creighton is supposed to be the better team, but they are still young.

Having said this, us losing to Creighton at home would be inexcusable, and winning at Creighton may now be doable. As usual, we'll take it one game at a time.

There is not one team in the conference that is head and shoulders above the rest and we need to win at home on saturday otherwise we will be playing in ST.Louis on thurs. night ; our players need to realize that if they expect to have any chance of winning the tour. they had better get their act together because it is pretty much impossible to try to win the tour. as a playin team. I was very dissappointed to hear comments that we were not mentally ready to play last nights game as the season is coming to a close and our guys should be ready if they care about finishing out the season strong and making this a successful season.

Well, CU is a team with 9 newcomers. According to some of their fans, this is a 'rebuilding' type year where they didn't really expect to contend for a championship. They were picked 4th or 5th I believe by most people. They played a weak non-conference schedule, and have been pretty up-and-down in the conference season. I never really bought into them this year, and quite frankly have been amazed at the record they've garnered (thanks mostly to a weak non-con). I think they showed some of their youth and inexperience by losing a game they had control of against a terrible team. Here's an assessment of one CU fan on another board. Pretty accurate I think.

I think its safe to say that this team is young AND not what we all expected/hoped it would be... I came into this year happy to be expecting a down year... but then this exciting new team beats all of these really crappy teams and it got me a little too happy.

Such a soft soft team.. we barely beat wichita, lose to evansville, yet we took the 16th team in the nation down to the wire 2 different times. Must be the way these guys are prepared.. its mid season and the guys are expecting an easy carefree win over EU.. well wake up and smell the bird feeder! Bad attitude tonight. Just.. bad, bad, bad, all around bad.

They've now opened the door for BU and SIU to move into 3rd. With BU having 2 games against them, and a home game against SIU, BU once again has their fate in their hands. What scares me is that really doesn't want to go 0-2 on this road trip. I heard he ripped the team pretty good in the postgame presser, and called this by far the most disappointing game of the season. I think we're going to get CU's very best on Saturday. We'll need our best effort of the year in what is now the most important game of the year (seems like we've been saying this for the last month and a half). Wichita and Drake really could have helped us out tonight! So close!

this is jacked up

this is jacked up

I think Theron Wilson is one of the better small forwards in the league.

The problem is he has to play the four and try to guard guys like Slack, who's clearly not a small forward

I agree, good teams dont lose to play ingame teams. Knew this would be a difficult task, but we looked bad tonight. I cant think of one good thing about this game, but that it is over!

I am as dissapointed in this loss as the next person.

If you have a problem with the way our season has played out that is fine by me too. But, if you thought that all was good before the IL St. game and now you think our season is a waste you were very nieve going into these two road games.

Remember, Indiana State has lost ONE home game this year, to Drake no less. I will formulate an opinion about our road efforts at the end of the season. So far our efforts on the road have been as good as in years.

You set yourself up for this type of dissapointment when you begin to EXPECT road wins OR ELSE. Most of you have followed BU and MVC hoops long enough to know better.

I guess I must be one of the drive-by posters so.....

I will say that IMO good teams should not/don't lose to play-in teams in Feb. my statement was meant to say that I don't believe this BU team is playing like a good team. IMO BU is not playing at the level they need to be heading down the stretch, too many mistakes, too many wide-open misses, breakdowns on defense etc.....

The team looked like they were headed in the right direction after DR came back but the last 2 games have been just about as bad as we have played all year. The good news is that we still have time to right the ship and head into STL with some steam. The Valley this year is missing that dominate team. I still believe we have as good a chance as any team, IF we play like we did the first 5-6 games with DR back. IF we play like we have since the halftime of the MSU game and we will be in very bad shape.
