ISU...hot going in.

DU....not playing best ball. A bit inconsistent down the stretch. Still tough team. If ISu is 1 DU is 1A.

BU....Strength is good guard play. Weakness is depth and inside game. Could see BU getting to final but running out of gas.

SIU...One dimensional. Defense. Still can't score.

CU...Dana.

UNI...Not playing well. Could upset SIU but I doubt it.

MS/InSU/UE/WSU....crap shoot. MS has the best shot to get the 2nd round upset.

Final 4... BU/DU (BU matches up well with DU)

ISU/SIU (can ISU win 3)

If its BU/ISU I say ISU wins.

If its BU/SIU I say BU takes it.

I wont be able to handle a BU/ISU final..Let alone a loss.

We have shown that we can beat anyone in the conference and away from home. If we beat Creighton, we should beat Drake based on the "good of the Valley" doctorine.

The MVC's dream scenario is ISU losing to BU in the final. That gives the MVC a legit shot at 3 bids, as I think ISU locks up an at-large with one win in St. Louis. Tonight's win for them was huge, a 'signature' road win late in the year. If BU (or CU) beats ISU in the final, I think it would be impossible to not take 3 from this league. I'd like it to be BU. Haven't we suffered long enough in the conference tournament?

I'd say the best chance of seeing AW again this year would be if we played on the first Friday of the NCAA Tournament. Otherwise, I think it's the red-white scrimmage.

AW will be there, but likely won't play in the MVC Tourney.
If he does, it'll be a Willis Reed kind of comeback.
We match up well against Creighton and barring some kind of once in a century game from a 5-10 juco player, we can beat them!

Guarding that 5'10" JUCO player would have prevented this 'once in a century' game. The high pick CU was running for Witter could be defended better by most high school teams, especially after a kid averaging 8 ppg got into the 20's on that same play.

I would say they would be just as happy with CU, over ISU, if not moreso, CU has a reputation the exceeds BU's over the last couple of years. I would LOVE to see BU over ISU though, but I think we have better chance against SIU.

I just wanna say.... be prepared to VERY disappointed on Selection Sunday. It happens EVERY year and this one will not be different.

This is a little bit off topic, but I think it is sports news...

The St. Louis Sporting News,
known recently as The Sporting News, is now leaving St. Louis behind and moving all operations and offices to Charlotte, NC
http://www.myfoxstl.com/myfox/pages...n=1&locale=EN-US&layoutCode=TSTY&pageId=3.2.1

They have been in operation since 1896, but they are suffering like many dailies and weeklies because of the number of people who now get their news and sports online and no longer buy publications.

Its warmer. I dont blame them.

My concern is the Braves getting worn out going only 8 deep!

I don't think fatigue will be an issue for the Braves unless we play ISU in the championship. Obviously with a week to rest they will be ready for Creighton. Playing Saturday shouldn't be an issue either because if you can't get up and be ready to play Drake in the tournament semi's you need your pulse checked. If we play ISU on Sunday, though, they could run us to death and really wear on our frontcourt. SIU should be easier to handle because we could sit back in a zone a little more and not worry about sprinting all over the floor in transition.

I agree, but ISU is also playing a man short. Even if Dom Johnson is able to play, he's going to be very limited. Unfortunately ISU would have the advantage in having the best post player on the floor (Slack) and best overall player on the floor (Eldridge). We would have to hope that collectively our guards would be better than their one star and a bunch of role players in the backcourt.

I think we may struggle if we get to Sunday just because we're an outside shooting team and we don't have a huge amount of depth. Let's just get a win on Friday to start though.

I still disagree with you here. OE is the best player on the court? I don't see how we can have a Pre-Season AA candidate and a person who gets much more respect nationally in Daniel Ruffin and still have OE as the best player on the court. He is the best scorer, but those are two totally different statements. IMO King O is much more worried about getting his than the W, and that is a weakness I think we can and will exploit given the chance. If we get him out of rythm we can get him taking lots of bad shots and really slow down ISU.
