I WAS for the CBI....

Hate to take this change in how I felt but the tourney just lost all credibility. I championed it like no on else....I stuck up for it as a real tournament.

I admit I was wrong...what a joke. They OBVIOUSLY want to go 3 games.

BU will win Weds...and it really is a foregone conclusion. My advice would be give BU the automatic win and save the travel dollars since that is what its about.

When AW got the elbow that sent him crashing to the floor and the ref called foul and AW I think we all saw what this is about.

Like someone told me...JL understands this is waht money ball is all about..he played in the NBA where the series going the distance is whats importaint.

I hope the three Tulsa High school refs enjoyed there moment in the spotlight.......

WOW...how disgusting.

Heh, I was actually there and have a very different opinion of things. Go figure.

I won't argue that the refs were good, but if you honestly think they didn't suck both ways then I strongly disagree. The refs have been sub par this entire tournament. Missing obvious calls, making pathetic makeups. Worse yet - letting things go all game (body contact on screens, hand checks down low) and then calling them at random.

These things went both ways.

But if "the refs did it" makes you feel better about an ugly game (on both accounts), then so be it.

As a humorous aside, We beat Houston 56-7 in football this year, one of their fans actually brought it up when we played them last game. Apparently the 57-6 loss was caused by the refs. I think Houston had 45 yards total penalties and Tulsa had 35 - and they lost by 49. But it was the refs fault.

Oh, and I hope you are wrong on the 3 game thing (obviously). See you Wednesday.

Jesse....Tulsa played well. Props to you guys for a good game plan. Don't take my absolute disgust for the refs as a shot to your team. Again they played well. Earned the win.

With that said....I have lost interest in this tournament. In my 20 + years of watching basketball I have only seen ONE other contest decided by refs being paid or at least instructed in how to call the game. 1978..I thinK...Sterling Girls played Anawan. We had won the very first ever girls championship the year before and returned practically the entire team...in comes some small school, at home, to beat us by a few points.

THe refs that did the game owned a Bus comapany in Anawan......they stood to make BIG dollars IF they could make it to STATE....guess what......they made the money.

Again..congrats to Tulsa.....the won the game on the boards.

See ya Friday back in Tulsa....

Most BU fans will take the high road and blame the loss on BU's poor play and Tulsa's good defense..as they should. I just feel a bit chiipy and will be the lone ranger making a fool of my self...that game was BOUGHT.

Vegas did pretty well on the game also!

I will not bore people with my list of officiating grievances,

Bradley got hosed at least 5 calls easy.

that said, what's up with our 3 point shot? What's up with Ruffin at the charity sripe?

Tulsa's Jordan was a handful, we had little answer. We have rebounded better against better teams if we cant rebound better than we did for us to lose shouldn't be a surpirse.

next game should be different, being that Bradley plays better with little down time and should do well with their "hands on" scouting report as it were.

We should have won that game, but no shame losing to a solid Tulsa team.

I suppose my only argument would be that if the CBI truly felt this way then why aren't we watching a Washington-Virginia final? Sometimes a poorly reffed game is just a poorly reffed game and nothing else. Good luck on Wednesday. If we don't improve the switch defense, then it will be an uphill battle.

I agree....probably NOT "fixed" just poor officiating.

No offense...you guys played well and deserved the W. The rebounds told the story.

All I can say is that when you play three games (Assuming we win Weds.) against the same team, there are gonna be some players with some tempers. Look for these guys to start getting under each others skin. You could already tell a few times tonight that they all weren't exactly getting along.

I think it's a great thing for Bradley. Ruffin and Crouch get a curtain call. Wilson, Maniscalco, and Warren get at least 5 games of postseason experience against top 100 teams. Bradley gets a road win against an ACC team. You reignite an historic rivalry now with 100+ meetings. I don't see how it could be a negative. Besides, you still have a shot at the trophy.

While you may be right that they want the extra $$ a third game would bring, the refs were equally horrible.
At one point Bradley had 6 fouls to Tulsa's 2. On 4 of the next possessions they nailed Tulsa for things like farting and a Bradley player being distracted by the smell.

In all honesty, the refs lost control of the game early and allowed it to be way to physical. They decided to counter that by calling touch fouls.

I expect physical play in a tournament but dammit guys, call it the same each time for each team.

Don't let team A elbow a guy to the floor on one end then call a touch foul on Team B the next time down. Don't call Team B for an over the back where the guys has arms straight in the air then don't call an over the back where a player falls to the floor on the other end.

It was bad for both teams and really, really, screwed up each teams rythem.(And yea, I'm pretty sure I spelled rythem wrong)

I am still for the CBI. "Fixed officiating" or not, the CBI means more basketball, and more chances to see our Braves.

That being said, we did not shoot well enough from behind the arc to win tonight. I think we could win by 10 at home then win again on the road.

Blaming this performance on officiating, no matter how poor it was is silly. If we hit the glass even a bit harder and MAKE OUR FREE THROWS the officiating no matter how crappy it was is not an issue. The fact that Tulsa repeatedly got offensive rebound after offensive rebound is what killed us not a few bad calls.

I was never for the CBI to begin with, and the false sense of accomplishment crashing over the boards is making me nauseous.

I'm with ya, TAS.

This tournament does have some positives, like some of the younger players getting more experience and fans getting to see JC and Ruff a few more times. But getting to this point in this tournament is not a good thing, considering the expectations that were placed on this team at the start of the year.
