Bouchie's numbers as a freshman were pretty solid... decent rebounder, low TO rate, good shotblocker, and 55% shooting on twos. Sounds like a pretty nice pickup for Indiana State.
We're HOPING he comes to ISU, but IU is now in the mix and his dad played for IU's 81 NCAA team. Evansville is also in the mix. Whoever gets this kid is getting a VERY good player, he'd do very well in the MVC
Bouchie will be a serviceable big. He does have an odd tendency of trying to play smaller than his 6'10" frame on offense. He loves floating around at 15 feet. I think he left to get away from Matt Howard j/k
WTVW-TV in Evansville is reporting that Bouchie is now down to 2 schools, Evansville and Indiana State.
This is according to an interview they had with his father, Steve Bouchie.
If this is true, it looks like he'll be playing in the MVC in 2009-2010.
this is a nice get for them, so someone tell the Evansville people since I don't believe they have a message board.
Anyway...in this article it says: "Evansville basketball coach Marty Simmons announced today that
Bryan Bouchie will transfer from Valparaiso University to UE"
So, how is he allowed to make this public announcement?
Bouchie cannot sign a LOI since he is a transfer, and you can only comment
on the players you have enrolled and on the roster?
Indiana State just picked up another player, a transfer from Greenville College,
Brogan Wolfe, who apparently will be a walk-on.
He averaged only 9 ppg for the DIII school. http://www.sycamorehoops.com/showthread.php?t=1656
