Bulls get #1

I know-point is that he's probably not even a top 5 pg in the league.

Triman give me 4 others who are better.

Ill spot you Williams and Paul. Give me 2 others who, and I want you to look at their games overall, including winning, leading, defense, scoring, making others better overall who are better the Parker.

I honestly believe looking at point guards in the NBA there are 5 solid, Williams, Paul, Billips, Nash and Parker. No way that Parker is not in the top 5 overall point guards in the NBA. There might be others who put up better scoring numbers... Iverson for an example but if you put the entire game together there are not 4 better points in the NBA then Parker.

We already had Aldridge, and he became Thomas. Idk how sold I am on him. Interesting idea though. It also puts 2 PG/SG players on portland (Roy and Hinrich).

Duncan is easily one of the top 20 players in the NBA ever-probably the best PF ever.

TP isn't close to the best PG in the NBA. I know that this isn't the whole story since he plays a lot better in the playoffs than the regular season, but look at the stats of other PGs compared to Parker. STATISTICALLY Hinrich is a better player (better assist:turnover ratio, equal assists, more steals and blocks. Worse ppg and FG%).

That's a very easy decision, eventhough Duncan didn't have a great regular season this year. As said earlier, that team is (a little better than) the Chicago Bulls... without Duncan.

I agree, Duncan is the essential part of the Spurs success. You replace Duncan with Drew Gooden/Tyrus Thomas and the Spurs don't get anywhere near the playoffs in the West. You replace Tony Parker with Kirk Hinrich and, while not as good, I say that team is still in the running.

In the last 18 years, the key ingredient in a championship run is a post that is capable of taking over the game on both the offensive and defensive side. Tim Duncan, Rasheed Wallace, Shaquille O'Neal, Hakeem Olajuwan. The exception to that is obviously Jordan who won championships with Horace Grant and Luc Longley as his best bigs. But the Bulls didn't need a dominant big to run the triangle to perfection because they had the best player in the history of basketball. So I think the rule of thumb for any NBA GM should be....unless I have Jordan, I better go get a game changing big guy.

The point guard position has been relatively unimportant on the championship teams since 1991. B.J. Armstong, Kenny Smith, Ron Harper, Avery Johnson, Derek Fisher, Tony Parker, Chauncey Billups, Jason Williams. You can win a title with average play from your point guard.

depends if you count wade, iverson, or joe johnson as PGs. Kidd got REALLY old this year so idk about him. Didn't help that he's on the garbage mavs. I might even take Roy over Parker.
