Better BB in P Town at the Y than Carver

IMO, I think T was offering to buy tickets (at face value) from disgruntled season-ticket-holder fans thinking this season's OOC games are not worth going to.

I think it is a nice gesture. IF one wants out, he'll buy 'em and put arses in the seats rooting for Bradley. No reason to "hate" on a guy for that - is there?

But the problem is how to get casual fans to the games for lack-luster opponents. That falls into marketing. And yes (first off, I am a hater of marketing, but their work is cut out for them this season), opponents is part of that. But this year it is lack-luster. So maybe we can expect more 1/2 time shows to be a draw. Maybe look for more package deals and discounts.

Why do we have to dwell on negatives?

It isn't about SIU-E. It is about Bradley and their team, oh and by the way, catch a great 1/2 time show... or for every 2-fers sold, enjoy 1/2 on a pizza at (wherever).

Geeze.

For someone who hates marketing, you have some pretty good ideas MMod!

OoB's statement was sarcastic (IMO), trying to use humor to voice a displeasure with the non-con schedule. I don't think that this years schedule is as good as the last couple of years. BUT, I think this schedule could help a young team with a lot of new parts to get some early confidence and experience. That could pay off huge in the conference schedule.
I don't think when someone complains about something, that they are anti-BU.

I agree 100%, which is really why my only complaint is the low number of home games. I have been posting since last year that I wanted to lighten up a bit this year on difficulty and add a couple more home games. Looks like we got about half of that right, however I think it was the wrong half. But I guess saying that makes me a 'whiner'.

Can't we all just get along? This isn't the best home schedule but with no Ruff
and no JC and all the newcomers this should give us the perfect opportunity to grow as a team and be ready to rock and roll in the MVC. If you are a true BU fan you'll go to every home game, stand up until the other team scores, yell your supprt from beginning to end and hope we kick butt.

Don't true BU fans stand the entire game? Wait, haven't we already been over this one....;)

Can't really use the newcomers/departures excuse. Last year we had 7 newcomers, and lost 3 starters and our 6th man, but our schedule last year was one of the toughest in recent memory.

I for one don't care if the schedule had Spoon River, John Wood, ICC, Eastern Illinois, and Northwest Nebraska State (if there is such a thing). I just really can't wait until the season starts. The Cubs are gonna keep me entertained for a while it seems, but Notre Dame and Da Bears aren't gonna take my mind off of the wait. It is just such a great atmosphere when we all are down there screaming, cheering all hollering for our Braves. If it doesn't bring out the casual fan, so be it. I think we saw in the CBI this past year what us "die-hards" can do to Carver Arena. Also, I wouldn't mind at all getting my first or second row seats that I had for the CBI, even if it is vs. ETSU. I love Bradley Basketball!

It's not an excuse. My point was and is you have lost your starting back court and two best players and by having an easier non conference schedule it'll hopefully allow us time to grow as a unit so that when the conference season begins we'll be running on all cylinders. JL will be able to play more players which is something he really couldn't do last season.

That should help make us a team to reckon with in the Valley.

First of all, that is MISTER MMop.

;)

Plus, I wish BradleyFans.com had a spell check. Makes it so much easier for people like me (and maybe OoB) who don't have great typing skills.

You can have spell checker. I have it and I forgot what I exactly did. I think I went into my account information and from there I followed some direction and downloaded a program which adds a spell checker. It still does not stop you from typing something really stupid so I really wish they had a STUPID checker.

Yes, everyone has the capability of having a spell-checker built into BradleyFans.

First- you have to open your User Control Panel by clicking on the UserCP link in the black banner across the top of every page.

Then click Edit Options in the left column.

Then scroll down to the bottom and be sure your Miscellaneous Options settings are set for Enhanced Interface-Full WYSIWYG Editing.

Then when you post or reply to a post, or when you send PMs, in the right upper corner of your text box will be a small check mark with ABC above it. Click that to download the spell checker and use Spell Check!

If that doesn't work, it is probably because your browser or firewall software is blocking such a download.

Ha SFP, your help is needed! I can not find it. If you remember please PM me. I think Mob was just being nice. My secretary always told me I would miss her, and **** it she was right. Besides, Scouter is going to eat me alive if I don't get it. jk:):):

Scouter, what I was trying to get across was the fact that in the 70's, we sat through games with teams we now play as exibitions. Also, there are a lot more Division 1 teams now. but many of our non-conference games back then were with teams who still aren't Division 1.
