Braves total domination over SIU 79-63!!!

and where has this team been all year.....

OK...tell me if there is an answer to this question....

is this a team that is a GOOD team who have been inconsistent and had a few bad outings?

Or is this a bad team that somehow was able to pull off something that hasn't been done in a decade against SIU?

I think that this is a team that has potential to be a good team, but pulled off something that hasn't been done in a decade.

and where has this team been all year???? This one came out of nowhere today. I wish TB would have played a few more minutes and AT to get some more time than the last 3 minutes of garbage time but I cant really complain.

Richard Hamilton... i mean Sam Singh played the best game I have ever seen him play. Maybe he needs to wear that mask for the rst of his career.

The other Sam was pretty good today as well. It could have been his best performace as a brave. After he hit his first 3 pointer I knew he was going to have a good day.

I saw a fire from this team that I havent seen before. We shouldnt lose a game at carver the rest of the year.

I'll go along with that 100%, HM:!::biggrin:

Bradley's attendance was 10,281.
That's great considering the odd time (1 pm Sunday), and the absence of students. And the crowd was into the game.

I think we just saw the BU team that Les was seeing before the season started, and what he was excited. Unfortunately this team hasn't played up to expectations and their own talent level for most of the season, mainly today and against Richmond, plus they laid some real eggs. Hopefully this team will keep this intensity, focus, and execution for the rest of the year.

As I have said all along when we go inside and to the rim good things happen. Also SM was playing a great part of the game at the 2 and was able to set, plant his feet, square up and shoot. I predicted if we could go inside and hit our FTs we would win by 8-10 points. I just did not think that SIUs O was so bad and that they would not try to go inside more. I guess for them to go iinside thay needed to pass the ball in and our guys were just sagging back daring them to shoot except against Mullins. I'm not sure what adjustment they made during the game except towards the end Dillard started shooting more.

On CL's coaching I'm not sure he is already packing his bags on this team. They did not look inspired or really prepared. There were a few adjustments that were not made that they should have made or just maybe we did not allow them to run their game at all.

Hey, read the last line. I did give Sam Singh his props. I believe it's the best game he's played here in 5 or 6 years!:D

In the line you highlighted, I was commenting just on Bradley's starters and how well they played.

OK, but in my book SS should be the starter:!: But, but,but I will take what DC did today, the rest of the year:!:

Great to see that level of intensity and effort, hopefully we can keep it up!

The thing I liked most was that we never took our foot off the gas. Against SEMO, we had moments where we let up, but until the final few minutes we were going all out in this one and I loved that.

The effort and execution on the defensive end was also solid. Early on, it looked like it was going to be Mullins's turn to be the one to have a career game against us. But we really locked him down on him nicely.

Free throw shooting was also tremendous... that's the one thing that the other team has no impact on, and improving it can make a big difference. And what do you know, it did!

I also loved the poise our newbies showed against a very physical SIU team.

And I agree, the crowd was very impressive!

See, I can be positive when it's merited!

Beating SIU was no surprize, kicking their A-- was because of the way we have played lately. We made shots today and played better defense and when we do those 2 things we are a decent basketball team.

Didn't BU have a dominant home win against SIU in the Sweet 16 season? All I remember is people saying that BU did an SIU (stifling D) to them. I also think that coincided with the light switch coming on for that team as to how important playing aggressive D was & the whole team started to play better.

Can anyone clarify or correct my recollection?

I dont know what the answer to that question is because today was the first game this year where I personally came out of it thinking we could actually do some damage this year. Besides a good first half vs Mich St and a good 15 minutes vs Florida i havent really seen much from this years team that would make me think we could possibly blow out SIU.

Great win by the BU team and coaches to start the season. Love the defense and intensity and rebounding. The team showed how they can play today.

I think someone said it was because they were all there to see Brian Mullins play in Peoria one more time....;)

Didn't BU have a dominant home win against SIU in the Sweet 16 season?
We only won one out three times we played them in 2005-2006, and that was a 72-60 win at Carver....not by any means a domination.
They beat us by 13 in St. Louis.

total domination...
several words come to mind...
butt-kicking
outcoached
humiliated
REDICULOUS!!!

I am waiting to see some comments from a few posters who have been a bit negative recently...

Presently there are 93 people online here after a great win...and the other site has 3 people online...hmmmm

In another thread you said why make it about posters. Question, do YOU think BU has looked good for the last few weeks.

Also about the "other" site. Why not just be happy with this one. Why do we have to take shots at others. Its making Bradleyfans the laughing stock of all the other boards. This is a good site. If we are NOT insecure we shouldn't have to take pot shots at others.

I agree...its what has been frustrating those that dare call it like we see it. This team has potential and save for a few minutes here and a quarter or a half there has yet to put it all together. Today we did for a full game.

Next step is to do it on the road and do it for more then one game. GO BU. Great effort.

-Y'all see DC's monster dunk on the put back? Was that some intensity or what. I had to take a double look to make sure that was DC I saw.

-Singh has developed a nice 10 foot jumper? Saw him hit 2 of those today I believe.

-87.5% on FT's today. SM was bricking the rim last game but he swished nearly every FT today. Think that's all they practiced lol.

-The refs, what was up with the refs? Travel was the word of the day.

-Good game overall and if BU can win big down in Wichita, I think winning the MVC is a very good possibility. Especially after some wacky results from todays games.

Did he have a sword and make a Z:?: Didn't he have a talking horse named ED:doubt::roll: Sorry best I can do:lol:

Definitely a nice win. Can't believe how bad SIU played. Most of their turnovers were unforced....they just didn't seem to play very well at all and Mullins tried to do it all.

Making excuses for SIU? Whether it looks like an unforced turnover or not, turnovers are turnovers. And last time I checked - there were 2 teams on the floor.

not at all. I just thought many of their turnovers were unforced. I felt the same way many times when BU made some early this year.
I thought SIU made some bonehead plays.
BU played great today. More intensity, shot good from the line as well as the field.
