It would be tough for any kid to turn down a BCS offer--even if it is in the middle of nowhere Kansas.
If DSE doesn't come then hopefully Jim Les and Co. will get someone better. I have faith in that.
And I still wouldn't be disappointed if we save the scholarship.
Agreed. I dont think DSE is the difference between BU winning and losing next year. So, having that scholarship on hold for someone else/maybe better wouldn't be the worst thing.
Unlike me when I was 6 years old and spent every cent I had--we don't HAVE to use the scholarship just because we have it. There is enough depth on the roster now to win.
Not only that, but we do have five kids in the 2013 graduating class. Not that big a deal, but I'd hate to see us load up on one class just because we can.
The projected class of 2013 is a shooting guard and four 6'8", 6"9" guys (which I love). The class in front of that is forwards and centers too, except for McCain. DSE doesn't sounds like any of the underclassmen that we have. I haven't seen him play, so it is hard for me to tell. It would be nice to have a guy already in the system to step in when Dunson & Roberts graduate.
If class balance is important, a juco guy would fit right in with the small junior class.
I want a big.
