Uh oh, Maybe DSE to KSU?

I really hope not. The more I hear about DSE, the more he's grown on me. From what I've heard from people who have been around DSE, is that he's not only a good basketball player, but an outstanding person as well. I think he's just the kind of student athlete BU would love to welcome to the family.

And, FWIW, I think that DSE, in the long run, would have a better career, and a more enjoyable one at BU than at K-State.

It would be tough for any kid to turn down a BCS offer--even if it is in the middle of nowhere Kansas.

If DSE doesn't come then hopefully Jim Les and Co. will get someone better. I have faith in that.

I know that - always has been that way...
I am just trying to post the facts so he knows how little they will appreciate him there and how unhappy he'll end up being
By not choosing BU as a qualifier out of HS, DeAaron W. ruined his entire career!

And I still wouldn't be disappointed if we save the scholarship.

Agreed. I dont think DSE is the difference between BU winning and losing next year. So, having that scholarship on hold for someone else/maybe better wouldn't be the worst thing.

Unlike me when I was 6 years old and spent every cent I had--we don't HAVE to use the scholarship just because we have it. There is enough depth on the roster now to win.

Not only that, but we do have five kids in the 2013 graduating class. Not that big a deal, but I'd hate to see us load up on one class just because we can.

Man you are smart Shaun--we agree more and more. :) I do like some class balance, if at all possible. It makes sense.

The projected class of 2013 is a shooting guard and four 6'8", 6"9" guys (which I love). The class in front of that is forwards and centers too, except for McCain. DSE doesn't sounds like any of the underclassmen that we have. I haven't seen him play, so it is hard for me to tell. It would be nice to have a guy already in the system to step in when Dunson & Roberts graduate.

If class balance is important, a juco guy would fit right in with the small junior class.

I don't feel class balance is so important that we pass on someone that fits into the scheme of things. I would love to have DSE come in and be playing fulltime with McCain and Eastman when he's a junior! However, if we aren't able to get someone to fit into our needs (even a juco), then that's when I believe class balance should come into play. Give the scholarship to Phillips if we can't get the player we really want.

I personally dont really want DSE. It seems to me from what I have seen and read about him he is a typical Jim Les recruit that has great athletic ability but not so much a deadly shooter. However from what I have heard, Bradley is working EXTRA hard to get DSE. pm me for info...

I believe we still have three weeks left in the signing period and I think illinois state and Indiana State are the only two Vally teams that have used all 13 scholarships for next season.
