Southeastern Iowa Community College- John Wilkins

Now known as Southeastern Community College (SEC), they have just posted their roster for 2009-1010, and it shows John Wilkins as a 6'9", 215 pound freshman-

Note that they also list Paris Gulley of Manual HS on their roster, though they misspelled his name as "Paris Gullet".
John Wilkins looks to get a lot of playing time, as there are only 3 other big men on the roster - a Canadian, and 2 Brazilians.

Here is their schedule-

I agree...he can play at D-I but all the D-I schools shied away because he's more like 5-10 and 150 lb.
With a little muscle development he can get some D-I looks.

So in looking at the schedule... what games are people thinking of heading to? Lets plan a group for a couple of these!

Me too and I have a 12 passenger van is anyone wants to save gas... ;)
but don't forget everyone...show up wearing Bradley attire!!

Here's an interesting fact...

John Wilkins enrolled at SICC last spring...
he has 5 years to complete 4 years of eligibility, and has used NONE of his playing eligibility yet...
so possibly if he can play at BU in fall of 2010, he will have three years (through spring of 2013) to finish out playing his four years.

But let's say (God forbid) he gets an Andrew Warren or Will E. injury and missed that last year...
then he can still take a redshirt but his eligibility will extend only to the spring semester of 2014, right (5 years from when his clock started in spring semester of 2009)

so he might also have to request the Sam Singh waiver that would let him finish out his redshirt senior season...right?

BTW-- I still hope we prove this guy wrong.. ;)

What about those November 6 and 7 games? Those are Fri and Sat games, Bradley doesn't play that Fri and Sat, though they do play Lewis in an Exhibition on Sunday, Nov.7, and the weather shouldn't be too bad at that time.
The Nov. 14 game against Parkland might be another option.

Of all the games and all the dates... you chose a weekend that I just planned to go to Indianapolis for. So count me out for the 6th, I might be back in time for the 7th... but that sorta depends. :-P

I'd be good for the November 6th or the 14th game.

Who (that wants to go) has a strong preference there?

It would be fun to go with you guys on the 7th but I just don't think I am gonna get back in town (from Indianapolis) with enough time to zip over to Burlington.

also some mentions in that story of D'Mitri Riggs (Bloomington HS), Kaylon Williams (Evansville), Zach House (Evansville), and a couple of Brazilian kids (Paulo, Mafra)

Roster updated with pics...

I think there may be a few of us that are now planning on November 6th. It's a Friday game at 7:00pm. The drive out there is about 2 1/2 hours, so we'd probably leave sometime around 3:30 or 4.

Who wants to take off a couple hours early on a Friday and join us?
