There have been some people who have denied this, but I think most basketball fans recognize that most officials appear to have a bias that favors the home teams.

The study also analyzed total fouls, which I and many others believe officials often try to keep close to avoid the appearance of a bias. Unfortunately, this penalizes the team that fouls less.
