Nice win 15 to 4 them offensive boards we just refuse to get defensive boards. Glad for the win but this deep into the season and the bad rebounding team continues. It really is a good thing they are not very diciplined defensively.
Outstanding game plan and execution, especially the zone defense. Coach Les said they thought this team would be susceptible to a 2-3 zone, so they practiced it the last couple days, and it worked well. The execution of the zone was tremendous, and frustrated their shooters all night. Drexel shot 34.4% for the game, and BU had 8 steals.
Chris had a great game in front of his family, who will stay and be there for senior night Wednesday. Chris had 15 points, 11 rebounds, 5 assists, and 4 steals, and one monster dunk before halftime.
Sammy had another great game- 20 points, 4 assists
Andrew had a solid game, despite missing his first 4 shots- 18 points, 5 rebounds.
Dyricus was solid- 32 minutes, 8 points, 4 rebounds.
Attendance 9,390
who cares...fire Les....
HEY I am just kidding...........listened at home.....sounded like CRob had a game! ......
Very nice game from the Braves. Played well and battled a much bigger team. I like the zone, especially liked that we didn't give up on it when they hit a couple of outside shots. DSE played well and deserves another start
The real question is, will DSE get the start next game or is TB right back in?
1. I hate it when CR plays wellIt just reminds me that he is gone next year. I love the consoling fact, when he plays bad, that he is all we lose.....I will miss him.
CR in the dunk contest at the final four? NO WAY HE DOES NOT GET INVITED. when he had that break away steal....if he didn't mishandle the ball I would have rushed to court after what he could have thrown down!
2. I love DSE. I think he needs to be more respectful of opposing bigs inside though. He gets in the air and expects to be able to maneuver easily....when it isn't so easy. Didn't he have like 5 or 6 TO's? However I love the aggression and no fear of going to the rim....he will be a stud. He can create.
3. Why can't MK just get a few more minutes....and where was AT???????????? grrrrrrrr. This was the perfect game to get everyone in! I don't see what JE is bringing to the table that is extraordinary...:?
4. Can't anyone realize that maybe AW's game is just not bruising? He is all about finesse....He will not change his style now....he is where he wants to be. I will take everything he did tonight every game. He uses his finesse to get open looks...he doesn't have to bang inside to be successful.
Milos's motor is going about 100mph. He's outta position alot, sets bad screens and isn't real good on D. He's KINDA lost.
JE plays under control, usually is in the correct spot can get a rebound and can get to the basket.
One could argue that Milos just needs more game action. I think he'll be Ok but really BOTH coulda redshirted. I understand why JE had to come off but it hurt us long term allthough JE should be more prepared NEXT yuear.
Milos, OTOH, has basically wasted a year IMO.
I liked what AW did....wasn't hitting from outside so took a few to the rack and scored...then went back outside and hit a few.
He had a couple drives late that were soft but maybe you are correct...he's just not an explosive player.
DSE..yeah...he can get o the rack. Great first step. He makes a few poor choices once he is there but I think that will only get better with time. Ya gotta love his game.
Did anyone notice the Drexel bench last night? The bench players started chanting "Defense!" when Drexel was on D. Just to tease them, I told the Drexel bench that "at least you're better than the Bradley cheerleaders", and one of the bench players, Kenny Tribbett, flipped me off. This was three minutes into the first half last night. None of the refs caught it.
...I told the Drexel bench that "at least you're better than the Bradley cheerleaders"
Yea and did you not watch the half time show...? I was legitimately impressed. My two little sisters loved it also, they were mesmerized.
A few things...
1. Really liked the zone. I feel like we played it much better being committed to it than we do just going to it as a token defense a couple possessions a game. Sure, Drexel is a bad shooting team, but we've seen other bad shooting teams have field days at Carver.
3. Would like to see Eastman attempt a few more 3's. His shot is pretty flat, but I think he's got a decent stroke from there.
I can't believe the season is over already!
