Great Article on Coach Stowell's double firing from BU

If you advocate a change in leadership in the Presidency of the United States are you "anti-America"? That's nonsense.

No 2ay does one persons beliefs/thoughts "undermine" the program. That's ridiculous.

Couldn't it be spun the other way. Can't someone be SO PRO-BU that they want to win so badly and see BU succeed that they feel a change is the only way to get that done?

Tell me the difference in the two scenarios.

Quit trying your spin and putting words in my typing :-)

To advocate a change in the Prez is to run for the office or campaign against him..that is an ongoing process..that is the way its been forever nothing Anti American there...maybe anti-prez..

But to advocate a change in a coach is anti-coach I don't care who it is...its simple...you want (advocate) JL removed you are anti-JL

Dude...where is my quote is the word ok used? He said advocate and that is what I said..HUGE difference...HUGE

Sheesh...are we really getting into word play here?

Being ok and supporting a change does not make one "anti-JL". Cheering for the team to lose, writing letters to him and administration telling him how bad he is, holding signs up at games, and making a public scene about how bad he is and how you want him gone....that would be "anti-JL".

I don't know of anyone who wants Bradley to lose so Jim will be gone. Who on this board, or anywhere, WANTS Bradley to lose (outside of ISU fans, etc.)?

Can one be "anti-JL" and "pro Bradley"?? Similar to "anti-current President" but "pro America"? Or do they have to go together?

Anyway...see my other post what constitutes being "anti" anybody. It's goofy we even have this discussion.

What is this obsession with labeling and rating fans as one way or another? Either you are a Bradley fan or you aren't. Why is this such a hard thing to process? Why so much work being done trying to figure everyone out? Does how someone else feels about Jim Les affect the way someone else feels about him? Very, very odd.

Where is the word play? To advocate (your words) is completely different than being ok with it...again a HUGE difference...

You mean like those boooing last season? and yelling fire Les?

I am a simple guy...you are what you are...

I am simple as well. I don't know about those yelling "Fire Les". I didn't hear it. But take your argument to them.

Again, why the obsession with labeling fans? Can't we all just be Bradley fans? Why is there so much weight on the "level" of fandom, who is what, what is who, who does what, who gives what, etc.

Its really, really goofy. From one simple man to another--help me out. Why is this such a big deal?

so much quoting....so let me make this as simple as I can....

1. If you want a person removed (advocate)...you ARE anti that person...
2. If you want a person removed...you are NOT anti-program...

my obession is with how you can come here and say that you can advocate a change and it not be anti that person...

I have never seen a thread go this long about something so irrelevant. And I said that about the regular-season-game-in-thenew-arena threads. New lows all around.

Is this what happens when baseball season is over for about 90% of us?

I apologize. I meant more to say "ok" with a change...as opposed to "advocate". Advocate means an ACTIVE approach to getting rid of someone. Again, I apolgoize for not making myself clear on the worlds. Sheesh--BU education not working so well :)

Being ok with a change isn't anti, IMO. Working to get a change probably would be. Settled?

yep

If the desired results aren't achieved this season, then I have no problem with a change at the head coach. However, I certainly don't consider myself to be anti-JL either. Not quite sure why that's not possible.

Dead on...I was all for Mo and wanted one more season for him but I was OK when he was let go. At least I understood to a degree.

I want BU to win so I want JL to win...it only makes sense.

IF we don't win enough and the powers that be decide its time to go in another direction....I'll be sad but will understand.

When I said injuries couldn't be used year after year for an excuse....EVENTUALLY, injuries or not, a coach has to win. Injuries $uck and they sure can be a reason why a team doesn't win but they can't be an excuse.

that should settle it -- I think a few people owe Coach Les an apology...

I have NO idea who, what or why Stowell got let go but how does someone accused of something denying it make it signed sealed and delivered he's innocent.

AGAIN.....I don't know anything about the firing and really have very little opinion. I would seriously doubt JL had anything to do with it.

But if every crook (NOT calling JL a crook) could just deny reports about there guilt and be declared innocent based on their statement...YIKES.

If you were a Braves fan baseball would not be over but I agree about this thread, too many posters with nothing better to do until the season begins, hoping for a very successful one or things could get very nasty this year on this board .
