UC Davis is playing at UCLA. The game is currently on FoxCollegeSportsPacific (channel 535 on Comcast cable).
Tyler Les is in the game as UCLA has taken a 22-15 lead (Tyler is #15 in the dark blue uniform).

wow -- UC-Davis is NOT good, yet hung with UCLA right to the end...
After falling back 14 points in the final 5-6 minutes, they rallied -- with UCLA looking like they wanted to coast...
UC-D closed to within just 6 points but started turning it over...
Final -- UCLA won 74-67....UCLA getting to the FT line four times as much as UC-Davis!!

just a little props to Tyler Les...
his Cal-Davis squad is not very good, but as a freshman Tyler still isn't getting much playing time...
but perhaps he should be...his shooting has been spot on...

Right now Tyler is shooting 50% from 3-pt range on the season....
and over the last 10 games he's shooting 73%..even though
he's only getting a few minutes per game and hardly enough time to get warm coming in off the bench.
(he also has a nearly 3:1 assist to turnover ratio!)

Does anyone here know why Tyler isn't playing for Bradley?? ;)

Wish he was we sure could use a shooter like him.

Tyler Les had another really good game, Jim must be proud..

UC-Davis is rebuilding and they're not really very competetive and lost last night to Hawaii, and to make things even worse...
the injury bug has hit....with UC-Davis' best player and leading scorer Ryan Sypkens (15 ppg, 5 rpg)
was just lost for the season with a knee injury and his backup -
their 4th leading scorer and best 3-pt shooter Eddie Miller (64% this season on three's) has also missed five games with a knee injury...
and their 2nd best scorer Harrison Dupont (10.3 ppg) is just coming back from missing several games with a head injury!

.. but....Tyler had a team leading 14 points, was 4-10 from 3-pt range, and also had a team leading four assists.

They could have a pretty good backcourt next season when the Hawk's son is eligible. Good to see a Les and Hawkins backcourt again.

yet another JL & TL article
http://espn.go.com/blog/collegebask...6/for-jim-les-its-a-family-affair-at-uc-davis

This article also mentions Coach Les has reached a full settlement with BU has "moved on".

"..he came to a financial settlement with the school.
“I wanted to move on,” Les said. “I was urgent to. I just wanted what was fair and what was right.
I wanted to be able to focus 110 percent on my new opportunity and new responsibility,
and I knew I wouldn’t be able to do that as long as that was hanging over.”

UCD continues to struggle but came very close to a win last night (lost 84-80 on the road)..
but Tyler Les has been a bright spot -- continuing his fine outside shooting...
He was 5-9 from 3-pt range last night (15 pts, 2 reb, 2 asst) and has now hit 45 3-pointers on the season, and is hitting at nearly a 50% clip........
His 45 made 3-pointers would be TOPS in the MVC and his 3-pt FG% would be 3rd

This from twitter:

CoachJimLes Jim Les
Shooting 50% from field-54 from 3-91 from the line on the road should be good enough-problem was AVIS had no D-effort there WINS!

as noted elsewhere there are several such threads - and it hardly takes a genius to know they had nothing to start with and even the top 2 or 3 of their players/starters are injured and/or done for the season...
classic rebuilding year.....

Wow, I had no idea how bad UC Davis has been. They are literally one of the worst teams in the country.

Look at these rankings:

http://espn.go.com/mens-college-basketball/team/_/id/302/uc-davis-aggies

This explains why there hasn't been many threads this year about UCD and Coach Les. I guess it's only up from here...wow.

If there were any threads, you'd be upset over that also. Shouldn't complain when JL is brought up too often and then keep bringing him up yourself.

Rebuilding...not sure who would chose to go to a school with such a historically bad season. I guess no matter how bad the BU thing gets I can take a look at this UCD rankings page and see how bad it could be. How are their fans taking it?

Again, it's called rebuilding. The previous coach left UC-D with arguable the worst, least athletic team in Division 1. He had only one insignificant recruit lined up for this year, and his recruiting classes for the previous several years were terrible. It pretty much says it all when Tyler Les is the gem of their previous several recruiting classes. Also, JL was hired in May, well after most new coaches were hired, and well after the spring signing period (which began weeks earlier) removed 99% of any available talent for 2011-2012. Anyone acting surprised by where UC-D is at this year is either uninformed, or is using it as a crutch to support their JL-hating agenda, which is well documented.
Jim already has several recruits coming next season that are a significant cut above what UC-D gets, and will make them competetive in another year or two.

I've heard nothing but optimism for UCD's program. Just like I'm giving GF until year 3 the same is happening for JL at UCD.

UC Davis was picked in the preseason in the bottom tier of teams in the Great West, and projected to have an RPI around 300. That's before injuries. I think most knowledgeable fans understand that when a coach takes over a bottom-of -the-conference team, results can't be expected overnight. Every new coach deserves a couple years to install their systems and their recruits into a program before anyone can judge their work, especially when taking over a team projected to finish last or near-last in conference.

JL and GF are going through the same thing, and both are doing a lot of losing. I hope that when everything settles down, they will have both brought their programs from the ruins into prominence.
