didn't see this posted anywhere else- i apologize if this is old information. at any rate, good news for those of us living in chicago area that don't get to see many BU games in person

this is the same tournament BU was a part of in 2006 (a tournament which included a tough loss to illinois, if my memory serves correctly); the 2011 lineup includes nevada, byu, and wisconsin

I'm guessing this was a Les scheduling coup, and it's a pretty good one. I'd love that field, although, as always, beware the two cupcake games you get shoehorned into.

Great field of teams. I am guessing this might have been the tournament Dr. Cross hinted at a few months ago. We were thinking Florida, but Chicago would be good, too.

That's a great field for us, last time the Braves played in this tourney BU faced off against Rutgers and it may have been the best game I've ever seen the team play, they absolutely destroyed the Scarlet Knights. Nice job by the staff, whoever it is that got us in it.

We'll get to play either Wisconsin or BYU, and if we win the first game...probably both!
I would think we'd play either Wisconsin or BYU in the first game.
That's three good teams for next season.

:D

Seems like a good spot to get local kids to watch us as well. People always want Chicago recruited more. Too bad Sammy couldn't have played his final year in his home town, would have been cool to see.

Awesome tourny, I will be very happy if GF can schedule as well as JL has done with tournaments like this. Someone said Kent State's RPI's have been high for their conference recently, that's a good sign.

When we played in the inaugural Chicago Challenge, didn't they say we'd be back in 2010 or 2011? I thought I remember hearing or reading that. Regardless, this is arguably the best tourney field we have been a part of in years. Non-con is looking great all of the sudden!

So What are we looking at right now?

at Drexel
home against Tennessee Martin possibly
home bracket buster
I am assuming about 4 total games in the Chicago tourny

I'm not sure how many other games we played this year will be returned....What else do we have lined up right now?

Home against WCU
Another east coast game ;)

Two more dates to schedule, hopefully a BCS home game a winnable home game.

We get Tenn-Martin right away? I thought BracketBuster return games were 2 years away... that's why we have Drexel on the road this coming season (a BracketBuster return game from 09-10 season) .

To get to 12 games like we had this year, we'd be 3 games away in this scenario right? We could just play 11 non-con games as well I guess. But I like more games, as it gives more chances to build the win total.

I thought you had a choice whether to play it the follow year or two years away?? That is why I put possibly.

I agree. We need a little more meat on our home schedule than we have had the last couple of years. It's understandable that we get two home games against some scrubs in order to allow to play in the Chicago invitational. And unfortunately our record this past year dictated the quality of our opponent in this year's Bracketbuster, so we get another (hopefully) gimme home game against Tennessee-Martin, which while easy will not help our RPI. So hopefully if we can't get a BCS team or two here, let's go for the likes of Dayton, St. Mary's or even Butler if they have room in what should be another very challanging schedule for them.

Better yet, how about the likes of VCU, ODU or George Mason? They would work very nicely too! :D

Also, where are we playing our MWC game this year, aside from BYU in Chicago of course?

I'd like for us to get an A10 team, Xavier or Dayton, and an SEC team, Vandy, South Carolina, or Wake Forest. No more going to powerhouses like Duke for a while...
