Bradley women's team

Hard to say if Petree got robbed...since MVC WBB names just an 11-person 1st Team, then a 6-person Honorable Mention...

But, seriously - she single-handedly won a dozen games for Bradley including a couple where she put the whole team on her back and erased
double digit deficits all by herself! In addition - she was TOP TEN in the MVC in SCORING, STEALS, 3-POINTERS, and BLOCKS

Even the likely Player of the Year Becca Hittner and other potential All American Sara Rhine did NOT finish in the TOP TEN in any more categories than Lasha did!!
NOBODY else did....
but I guess the "voters" feel she needs to pay her dues first....

Congrats to our ladies - they had a great season and virtually the entire team returns next season!!

If Lasha doesn't win the Freshman of the Year then someone oughta call in Robert Mueller...but then this is the MVC and weird things happen...

On an 11 person team, I think it is pretty clear she got robbed! Hopefully she takes this slight and propels the women like some of the men seemed to do.

Lasha Petree wins the FRESHMAN of the YEAR and also wins the 6th Player of the Year Award!!

Lasha's little sis Mahri - who is signed to come to Bradley next year..
has led her high school team to their DISTRICT Championship, and now their REGIONAL Championship - LINK
State quarterfinals are next Tuesday
...one of Mahri's teammates, Mya Petticord, is ranked by some the #1 player in the US in her Class (of 2022),

The Bradley women just landed a commitment today from a very good 2020 recruit. Sami Martin, a 6'2" forward from Platteville, Wisconsin, just completed an official visit to Bradley today, and rumor is that she committed. Because she will not be able to sign until November, we may not hear anything official. She averaged about 17 ppg her junior season for Platteville HS.

they also lost a 2nd player, Ellisha Davis - who got a lot of playing time early on, but appeared to be the women's version of TCS ;)
Hopes were very high for the junior college transfer who spent 2018-19 at Bradley, making 12 starts & getting a lot of playing time right off the bat in 2018-19 - but demonstrating a surprising inability to score.
She scored only 15 total points all year, hitting only 5 shots (5 for 38!) and going 0-6 on 3-pointers in 19 games!!

Her 0.8 ppg scoring was accompanied by an abysmal 13.2% shooting percentage (5-38 ), 41.7% FT shooting,
to go with 0.9 rebounds per game, and apparently little else....

She has transferred for her final season to Central Missouri - https://ucmathletics.com/news/2019/5...px?path=wbball

Looks like we even beat the recruit herself in reporting her commitment to Bradley!-

Sami Martin was an All State player in Wisconsin as a sophomore, as well as this year as a junior. The Bradley coaches recruit extensively in Wisconsin, and have followed her for a long time.
