Darrell Brown- Total Braves Points Tracker

Congrats to DB Jr. for passing BU great Joe Allen at the #6 spot in BU hoops lore (All-time scoring list).
With 17 points vs our beloved Redbird rivals (ha ha), Darrell has amassed 1,777 career points at Bradley.
WOW! How steady has he been all 4 seasons...not many steadier than DB.

He is gonna be MISSED a lot. What a great representative of Bradley hoops and a stellar example of how to work hard and let your actions do the talking.
His unselfish play this season speaks volumes of his willingness to exchange numbers and accolades for the what's best for the TEAM. And even still, his numbers are pretty dang impressive!

I totally agree - Darrell will be missed. I truly do not know who next year's "Go To Guy" will be when Bradley is down to a final shot.

My hope is that Darrel, and Nate, and Koch get an incredible ovation and send off at their final home game this Saturday

GO BRAVES !!!!

I think we still have a few go-to guys next season.
I look for Danya to step it up, while JaShon should improve as he's done this season...and remember, we still got CHILDS! :)

Below is the all-time career scoring list prior to this season. Darrell's 1,777 career points now puts him in 6th place. He will probably need more than 2 more games to reach Paul Unruh at #5. His 217 three pointers still ranks 5th on the career list, but he has a chance to make it up to possibly 3rd if Bradley can play beyond the MVC Tournament.

Darrell Brown's 19 points today give him 1,814 for his career. He still ranks 6th on the all-time list, but is now just 8 points behind Paul Unruh who is in 5th place. DB also now has 220 three pointers for his career, just 3 shy of #4 Phillip Gilbert.

DB is one of the all-time greats. We’re going to look back at his time here and be very thankful that we got to see it. He’s been a special player and no doubt, a tremendous guy.
Top 5 all time scoring list is an unbelievable achievement.

Couldn't express this much better Tommy.
Going to miss this guy a TON!
#5 at #5...soooo fitting!

I'm pretty sure we all want this thread to keep going! How about 4 more games to track, starting with a W today...catch my drift?

Gosh darn it...the bad thing is we need to get back to the Sweet 16 for DB Jr to have a shot at cracking the Top 4!!
I really didn't think we'd be talking about NCAA tourney after the heartbreaker last Sat., so anything is possible!!!
Keep believin' Braves fans!

Could not agree with all of you more. Darrell showed everyone who the real conference MVP is - and receiving the MVC Tournament Most Outstanding Play is only fitting. Darrell played 38 minutes against Southern Illinois, 37 minutes against Drake, and 38 minutes against Valparaiso. Darrell is more than just a athlete - Darrell is an artist and the basketball court is his canvass. All of us just sit there and watch - a lot of times in "awe".

Enjoy watching Darrell - and be thankful that each of us still has the opportunity to witness his greatness. He and his team mates are solidly enshrined in Bradley Basketball History. Thank you Darrell for being a member of the last 4 teams that has put Bradley back on top. Can't wait to see who you and your Bradley team mates will face in the first round of the 2020 NCAA Tournament.

And now to Savor these moments - knowing that there is still more to come. :D

GO DARRELL !!!! GO BRAVES !!!!

I'm sure all of us will remember these young men for years to come. DB and Nate and Bar along with ladt years seniors helped give BU back to back NCAA tournament appearances for the first time in ???? Years. I've heard anywhere from 50-70 years so just put ???? marks.
let's go get some NCAA wins now.

The last back to back Bradley teams were the 1953-54 and 1954-55 teams. That was the only other time Bradley teams went back-to-back in the NCAA.
Bradley came close in the 1980's with Hersey Hawkins and those great teams. They were in the NCAA Tournament in 1986 and 1988, but an unjust NCAA penalty prevented Bradley from playing in the MVC Tournament and the NCAA Tournament in 1987.
Here is a good summary of Bradley's year-by-year performances with the NCAA results noted-

I posted this before the season began...DB Jr, Nate, Eli, and Ja'Shon show NO fear on the count and will be remembered in hearts of Braves fans MANY years down the road...for their fearlessness and desire to be great...and not just for themselves, but for each other!

Here is what the Bradley record book says-

The highest honor bestowed upon former Bradley student-athletes is to have their uniform number retired and publicly displayed.
Before a student-athlete’s number may be retired, the following minimum qualifications must be met:

• Individuals must have earned their undergraduate degree or have made significant progress toward such
(i.e., if they depart prematurely for a professional career or for extenuating circumstances).

• Honorees who meet the first criteria and either have been chosen as a member of an All-America team by a body recognized by national media (honorable mention would not qualify) or have earned an Olympic medal as a participant would be given an automatic endorsement.

• In lieu of achieving the accolades in the second criteria, selection as league Player of the Year in Bradley’s primary conference, an outstanding professional career or demonstration that an athlete was by far the best to play his or her sport at Bradley would be grounds for an endorsement.

• All potential honorees must embody in their personal, academic and athletic activities the highest ideal and standards of behavior expected of a member of the Bradley community. In addition to the seven basketball honorees, former baseball players Kirby Puckett (14) and Mike Dunne (11), as well as former baseball head coach Leo Schrall (2), are the only other Bradley Athletics members to have their uniform number retired.

In addition to those criteria, the final decision is up to the athletic department administration.
