History of the Bradley alternate color uniforms

I think it’s a great idea, and hopefully we can use the Hersey Hawkins era script uniform some day too.

The current shield logo is alright but I do feel nostalgic for this one.

These new "Throwback" uniforms look similar to the 2005-2006 NCAA Sweet 16 year, but they are not exact.
Maybe the fact that they are Under Armour, they cannot copy a design from a competitor (Nike)?
Here is a comparison-

That would make sense why they aren't the exact same. Thought it was odd

It would be really nice to pull out the alternate gray uniforms for the ISU home game on a Saturday. I was at the ISU game when the black jerseys came out and that was fun for the crowd. I know crowds are less now, but hopefully that is a meaningful game for us this year at that point, along with it being ISU.

Once in a while I have a good idea apparently, or at least the same idea as Bradley had. Not Gray, but still a step towards doing these things more! And the old logo is back!

Nice to feel like fans are heard with the current regime. Not that I’m implying they listened to my idea specifically, I’m sure this was planned well before, but just they listened to people wanting alternate jerseys in general. If nothing else, it creates some buzz at least. Of course nothing creates more buzz than winning, so let’s do that part too!

Yes, I agree. In the tweet that Bradley Basketball announced the throwback uniforms, they said:

You asked for it, we delivered. for Bradley's oldest rivalry ️

Thanks Bradley, for responding to the fans!!

I'm adding last night's (12/22/2022- BU 94 Akron 55) Throwback uniform to this thread about alternate color uniforms. It wasn't an actual alternative color, but a beautiful throwback version that resembled various years in the 1980's with "script" Bradley across the chest.

More on the Throwback uniforms from last night's game, and the ones they were modeled on from the 1980's (see above)...

There are a few differences between the new throwback versions by Under Armour, and the old versions from the various years in the1980's.
Bradley apparently had both red road uniforms as well as white home uniforms (pictured above), because I have a red version.
And, before the era of colleges signing exclusive contracts with apparel companies, schools bought uniforms from multiple different manufacturers.
I have Bradley uniforms made by different companies like Champion, Wilson, and Russell, which were the big three uniform manufacturers in the 1980's, before Nike and the other shoe companies got into making uniforms.
The red uniform I have was manufactured by Russell Athletic-

A couple other notable differences are that the 1980's shorts are very short, typical for that time period (can be seen in the photos of Hersey Hawkins and Anthony Manuel in the post above this one).
And they have the old, now-politically incorrect Bradley "Dancing Indian" logo embroidered on both sides of the shorts. Of course, the new throwbacks do not have this objectionable caricature.
