North Dakota State was picked 3rd in the Summit League preseason poll behind (1) Kansas City and (2) South Dakota State - https://thesummitleague.org/news/20...arn-top-spot-in-summitmbb-preseason-poll.aspx

But I watched parts of the game last night between North Dakota State and SIU, and NDSU did not look very good. They lost by 25, managed only 44 points, and shot just 26.5% overall, and 18.5% from three. And SIU played their reserves almost half the game.
Many of the Summit League teams have lost players to the transfer portal, so I suspect the entire league is down again this season. Last year, only 3 of the league's 9 teams had overall winning records.

NDSU beat Santa Clara at Santa Clara in overtime. I was at the Santa Clara/SLU game in Sioux Falls and, while SLU played just average, Santa Clara was executing quite nicely. Maybe it was one of those "on any given night" scenarios.
