Elijah Elliott was the high scoring guard who transferred in to SIU a year ago from Texas-Rio Grande Valley. he was expected to be a key part of last year's team. He was averaging 16.5 ppg through their first 4 games, then tore his ACL in their 5th game, and missed the rest of the season.
Players who return from ACL surgery usually are not ready to contribute right away at the same level as before their injury, so it seems unlikely he'll get as much interest in the portal as he would have if he hadn't been injured.

Now a 9th Missouri State player enters the transfer portal, Sam Murray - https://x.com/VerbalCommits/status/1907484403913158867

Only two scholarship players from their 2024-25 roster remain, 6'4" junior starting center Michael Osei-Bonsu (11.0 ppg, 7.4 rpg) and freshman guard Zaxton King (8.9 ppg, 2.8 rpg). There are still 20 days left before the portal closes.

Iowa more then likely will not be any better unless he can find much better players then what I have seen so far in his recruiting.

Iowa will be near the bottom of the BIG10 standings for the foreseeable future. They have the lowest NIL collective in the conference and are primarily a football school. Doesn't help that when Fran had an all american player a few years ago he couldn't even make a S16...

Going out on a limb... I'll predict that 6'8" post player Cam Manyawu will not be as effective in the Big Ten. :)

Hmm.. 5-Star Omaha Biliew (brother of Bradley's Goanar Biliew) just wasted a year at Wake Forest, playing little...going nowhere in the post-season
Belmont's Carter Whitt also got out. He had a great year at Belmont.

Kinzinger announces on his social media that he is staying at ISU

he musta got the memo from Zek & Joseph Yesufu

Yesufu, btw, could LITERALLY have been the Bennett Stirtz of his time at Drake.
He was very good, Drake was doing extremely well and going to the NCAA...

but he chose to transfer, not once but again and again -- spending his 6-year DI career at 4 different schools...
...playing 104 games after he left Drake but averaging only about 4 ppg and 1/2 of an assist per game mostly as a deep sub and garbage timer.
Remember, in his full year at Drake in 2020-21, he put up 13.8 ppg and hit almost 40% from 3-pt. - and 20+ performances against
BU, in the MVC Tourney and multiple times in the NCAA Tourney. I have no idea how much he enjoyed his journey from Drake to Kansas to Washington then West Virginia, playing almost exclusively as a sub and in GT, but he'd have had a decent shot at an incredible career in the MVC, maybe even an MVC HOF career.

Sadly I can't see any end soon to this problem of all the Valley's best players bolting for the $$ every year, almost 70
MVC players now in the portal - an average of ~ 6 from each team- but kudos to
Kinziger, Walker & Trey Campbell as the only 3 of the 16 All-MVC players who are sticking around.

Man, Biliew has done nothing in 2 years now at high majors. What High major would pay him now? Maybe he's worth taking a chance on at a mid-major? No idea what his mindset, coachability is...why not go play with your brother...would BU be interested?

He hasn't entered the portal has he?....Omaha, I mean..has he entered or is he staying at Wake?

It really does tell you something about the BU program and coaching staff to have so many returning since the portal opened wide.
A credit also to Duke and Darius for setting an example of staying loyal to a team, and I think guys like Burch and JaQuan have followed their lead.

Great point. Duke and Darius will be BU legends forever because they finished their careers at home. Love those guys and will always have the fondest memories of them for years to come!

He did win a chip while he was at Kansas in 2022...Got to imagine that experience was probably worth it for him if you had the chance to ask him personally.
