Iowa State Head coach Matt Campbell had a success at Iowa State the last couple seasons (11-3 in 2024 and 8-4 in 2025) and today he was hired as the new head coach at Penn State. At Penn State he'll get paid more, but he'll also have millions more to spend on his players.
Iowa State hired Washington State head coach Jimmy Rogers as the new Iowa State head coach. Then the Iowa State AD talked about the money they had to pay the players-

He revealed that Iowa State's budget to pay players was $20 million total for all sports.
It breaks down to $13 million for Football, $5 million for men's basketball, $1 million for wrestling, and $750,000 for women's basketball. The remaining is given to all the athletes in the other sports at $2,000 each.
And he is complaining about how that isn't enough money to compete consistently, and they need to raise more money.
He also mentions that new coach Jimmy Rogers had only $2.5 million to spend on his football team at Washington State, so he will be getting $11 million more at Iowa State.
