Final: Bradley 87 UMass Lowell 77

Absolutely needed that run when down 11 in the 2nd half, fueled by Burch's open 3-ball and then drive and score. I thought we played with more intensity than any game I've seen so far. CT has been so awful this season I don't know what to say.
Meta played well most of the game.

Going into the season I had doubts about AJ Smith, thinking we could have gotten someone with more scoring potential, but he has proven me wrong. I think he's been the best guy out there, and will be a key guy, along with Alex.

Nice to see the 3-balls go down! We've had great looks all season. Not a great game, but got it done late and the hustle and determination was great to see!

Wheeler continues to play well - great A/T ratio and love his tenacity on both ends.

A noticeable strength of this team so far is low turnover rate...taking care of the ball has been super! Only 1 game have the Braves had 10+ turnovers (vs UT-Martin, but we forced 23)

Meta only played decent the last several minutes. How can he all of a sudden move a little faster towards the end of the game and not so much for most of the game. His turnovers and lack of rebounding for the minutes he plays are terrible. During the last 2 home games the opposing teams centers have been so much better then Meta and those guys were freshman.

maybe credit Coach Wardle's halftime talk....
Meta was indeed a different player in the 2nd half - perhaps too tentative in the 1st half worried about
picking up fouls - but whatever the reason - we need to see that 2nd half Meta all the time

I really thought that Meta and Corey would make big jumps this year, but seems Meta is about the same and Corey has regressed.
Thankfully AJ and Alex have shown good things, though Alex doesn't seem like a great shooter compared to ones we've had in recent seasons, but he may get hot. I'd take 37% for the season. Burch should be about 42% when all is said and done. He's got a great/smooth stroke and probably would make 2 of 4 each game, but he doesn't settle for 3s and drives if he can.

Enjoy the write ups. Point of correction - it was Al Hanson who was talking to the team in the clip. MB is walking around the outside of the huddle to talk to Wardle.
Good catch - I thought it might be him and was taking it directly from what Chad had said on the radio. I'll fix it!

Ok-I’ll be the heretic here. I appreciate these write ups and they are good and thorough. However, although I have not lived in Peoria since the age of 18 I still subscribe to the PJS. It is not perfect but it still gives me a connection to my hometown. It’s not what it was but I have not found anything that replaces it.

I imagine it does give you a connection, and overall view of what's going on in general sports wise in Peoria. Also, glad you enjoy it. I think there may be a case of you don't know what ur missing too...you only see and hear about what the Journal Star covers if you are not here....for those of us still living here I think many of us feel there is a lot the Journal Star doesn't cover, or mention.

Left Peoria almost 40 years ago. We continued to take PJS, mainly for the Bradley news. I know the PJS has reduced staff but it seems we have been getting more Bradley BB news than we did for several years. I appreciate the extra articles.
