Final score: Bradley 75 Northern Iowa 69

I guess that BU basketball has arrived (or "is back") given the "made for TV" start times we are getting: this one, and the 6 pm on Wednesday.

Unfortunately, being right before the Bears game will reduce attendance. It would have been tough to plan, I am sure, but they should have held a Bears watch party afterward and sold concessions.

Yes it does give BU a better chance of winning. But at the same time, never take an opponent for granted. When you do you could lose the game. Stay focused and do the fundamentals and I like our chances.

I feel less confident in my prediction than other Valley games, but here goes:

I'll give you an "A" for your prediction of the final score- Bradley 72 UNI 68 - https://bubraves2006.substack.com/p/jan-10th-valley-game-six-vs-northern

The only thing preventing an A+ was your use of the term "statement game" to describe Bradley's predicted play. ;)
It was more of a grind it out, winning ugly sort of game. Bradley never opened much of a lead. The max lead was just 6 points, and that was the final score of 75-69, thanks to a bunch of free throws in the final couple minutes from Meta and Alex.
Meta had a team-high 16 points, 9 rebounds, and 2 blocks.
There were nice contributions from Jaquan Johnson (17 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists), Alex (10 points, 5 rebounds) , Timo (8 points, 13 rebounds, Corey Thomas (9 points, 2-2 from three), AJ Smith (6 points, 5 rebounds, and nice defense), and Montana Wheeler (6 points, 4 assists).
And only 5 turnovers for the game.

Player of the Game is Ahmet Jonovic with 16 points, 9 rebounds and 3-4 on huge free throws in the final minute.
Meta's 16 points ties his season-high and his career-high point total. He also had 16 points earlier in this season in the loss to UT-Martin.
Timo's 13 rebounds is a career-high for him. His previous career-high for rebounds was 8 against Princeton in the ESPN Tournament at Disney World.

Well the way the Bears are sucking 2nite, it takes the sting away a little with the Bradley W!
Hard to say whether I wanted a BU victory more or a Bears victory today...probably the latter by a shade just b/c Bears rarely have games to this caliber.
Hey - could be worse...we could be ISU-red and Bears fans!!! ;)

I felt our defensive rebounding in the last 3 minutes was critical to the Victory. You mentioned before that you thought maybe we didn't deserve the win with a few categories that were below average today...but we have shown grit in a few wins...I think we can see how badly the guys on this team want to win for each other...that's the culture that Wardle has built...so upon further review (and reflection) HECK YEAH - we DESERVED TO WIN it!!!

I really like how aggressive Timo was on the glass tonight. I think he was a big factor in our win. And all of the sudden, Meta is a completely different player. Way more confident and aware of what’s going on. Am I right in that he’s been handling the ball better than he ever has?

I hope you stayed up to watch the 4th quarter of the Bears game. :)
What a finish! 25 4th quarter points to overcome the huge deficit and win 31-27- https://www.espn.com/nfl/boxscore/_/gameId/401772981

On top of the Braves win, it's been a pretty sweet day!

Trifecta for me....
1. BRADLEY WINS
2. Bears huge comeback over pack
3.Cubs just signed 3B Alex Bregman for 5 years!👀👀👀🏀🏈⚾🎯🎯🧨🧨🧨🎯🧨🎯🎯🎯🧨

BU win to go along with Bears win makes my sleep better tonight. BU needs to get better at the free throw line. Good thing Campbell missed the front end of a one and bonus and we got the rebound.
