Can gel together??

Just looking at all the players we have coming in next season gets me excited for the start of the season.
My only question is how quick can they gel into a cohesive unit?.
We will have the most size and, possibly, the most depth since Wardle has been at BU. I look at Michigan this past season and that team all came from different schools and backgrounds yet they were able to play as a team.
That brings me to this year's team. Can they learn to play as one unit and not be individuals? If they play as one they should be fun.
I, personally, think we might be overlooking the 2 redshirt freshmen from last season especially our 7 footer. If he is completely healed and ready to play he might help us more then we realize.
No matter what we are going to a lot bigger then this past season.

It's become a problem that the huge majority of mid-major programs have to deal with almost every season. Virtually every MVC team is going through a major rebuild, and several have had to do it for multiple years straight.
With the ability to have all the players on campus through the summer, recent NCAA rule changes that allow more coaching contact and practice time over the summer, the larger coaching staff and keeping the staff intact, all should make it possible to gel and be ready for competition in November.
It doesn't always work, like with UIC last year. They were not good the first half of the year, but then evolved into one of the top teams in the MVC. But for some reason, Murray State, who probably rebuilt more than anyone in the MVC, did the opposite. They came out of the gate strong and won 16 of their first 20. But then they lost 9 of their final 13 and were one-and-done in St. Louis.

No doubt the most important part is getting these players in as early as possible and working with them on coaches expectations for them. Playing together as a unit is one of the top things as far as success for a program. School is ending soon and I will be looking to hear who shows up sooner rather then later.

Obviously know nothing about these new players. Their success will come down to all of them buying in to the idea that success is a team effort. I think we had a couple players last season that were more focused on individual achievements.

so you're saying maybe we have way too many talented players that they might take a while to "gel"?
;) - we go from the youngest team in the Valley to being the biggest and most experienced -- seem like we just never catch a break.... ;)

They all look great on youtube highlights but I have to believe we will have a few busts and then a suprise or two bringing a little more upside than we first thought. But all in all seems we have some pieces to work with. I don't expect us to be top 2 but if things really click and we have the right DNA in these guys maybe push into 3 or 4 in the valley and make a run higher who knows. But that is if these guys bring extra grit and and play as a team.

Yah Yoda we do have a lot of talent by the way it looks. To much? Never as long as they buy into the fact that winning is more fun then being a "star".
I've read enough of your post to know that you know exactly what I'm saying. ⚾🙂
