Does anyone have any suggestions for Red Sea Cheers, we're working on some that we'd like to see soon, but we would really really like suggestions.

Do people like the 'This is BRADLEY!!!' Cheer?

NO!!! that cheer was retarded, and I was in the middle of it. It would be ok if it was after a big shot, block, etc. Maybe when the game is close, and maybe when we are playing an opponent like Michigan State. But against this team and every free throw attempt?? I was embarrassed.

Well, glad to know you have wide vocabulary so you don't have to use offensive terms...

Anyway, why would we only do cheers against big teams, that doesn't make any sense... And if you have cheer ideas throw them out there, because we have a group of about 25 that go to games and cheer together now and actually cheer, not stand and heckle the other team.

We could try one that Duke does, and change "Lets go Duke" to "lets go Braves," clapping on "lets" and "go", and putting a fist in the air on "Braves".

I thought the "this is Bradley" cheer was good, but done way too many times

You guys have ideas on when we should do it, were open to anything...

rusty and i were talking about the "this is bradley" cheer and we both agree that it was done way too much. no more than 5 or 6 times per game in my opinion. basically we need to talk to that guy who counts us off for it and tell him to use it sparingly.

as far as the duke idea.... we should do it on offense just like many of the other cheers. it's short but sweet.

whatever you do, get the rest of the students/band on the same page.

the students next to the opposing team's bench were doing their own thing. very loud - which is good.

the band/cheerleaders were doing something else.

and the students on the other side of the band weren't doing much.

when there are multiple cheers going on at the same time, its hard to make out anything.

At the Iowa State game I was behind the group who came up with the "This is Bradley!" idea and thought it was the dumbest thing I've ever heard. I get that it's from the movie "300," but it's really, really lame. If I went to a game at ISU and heard them yell "This is ISU!" I'd point and laugh at them.

I wasn't able to go to today's game, but maybe I'm glad I didn't considering they were yelling that over and over. Please find something better.

I'm not sure I really am to worried about what the Red Sea yells, just keep yelling and make it as loud and raucous as you can for the entire game. Keep up the good work. I like the enthusiasm of the big guy. We need everyone to have as much enthusiasm as the new president. She has won me over with her style already. Can we get a cheerleading outfit for her to wear out to center court before the Michigan State game!!!!!!!!!!! Nothing stupid or corny, just the Prez saying let's go folks, this is our team, and if I can go the extra step for this team so can the rest of you!!!!!

Ashely Judd, Coach Pat Summit, and now President Glasser...

I have to agree....nice student section.

Maybe the student section could make up 100s of the "faces on sticks" with the new Prez's face on it as a show of support for her enthusiasm. She took the 1st step to show her support, maybe it should be returned. I think it would be appreciated by her and maybe the students could use the Prez sticks to motivate the crowd. When the Prez's face goes up, the crowd gets up. It would need to be used inteligently, and sparingly, but it might work. Just a thought. Let me drink a few sodas and I might have more ideas. Of course the quality might go down!!!!!!

I agree with you. In my opinion this is the problem that is going on (and remember that I am all for new cheers, but the cheerleaders should know them, we shouldn't be making them up at the games) :

1) The section I sit in and love, the bench side of the student section, likes to go along and do their own thing. Now, I was fine with this, and it worked last year, however, when the cheerleaders started their stuff, we would switch to their cheer, or they would go along with one of ours because they knew it as well. That isn't happening so far this year. This causes two cheers to happen at once, and then everyone just kinda stops after a while.

2) The main problem is that for some reason bench side of the student section can't hold a beat. Many times midway through a chant the student section is going faster and WAY ahead of the band & cheerleaders. I don't know if they are just so excited they get ahead, or if someone is trying to do this.

3) As far as clarifying my opposition against the "We are Bradley" cheer, it just doens't seem classy to use it like it was used today, and it should only be used when the team actually proves something. Am I off base here? It just seems like a cheer that should be used sparingly and with discretion.

Kudos to the one big guy from the student section who worked hard to get the wave-cheer going!!

(the one who ran around the arena with the wave?)

Wasn't he the same dude that set the record today for most missed FT's in the free pizza shooting contest?

He was cracking me up.
