10% Graduation Rate at Ohio State

They are affected by players who leave early and don't graduate for whatever reason, transfer to another school, going pro, losing the scholarship for other easons, but they are somewhat comparable.

Most Valley schools are above 50%, most BCS are well below.
Those numbers are for JUST mens basketball players, but the report which can be accessed here, can also be sorted to show football (which is pretty pathetic at a lot of schools) and all sports.

No surprise to me. Ohio State does not care about academics and you could write a book with the number of NCAA violations they commit.
 
It will only get worse as OSU recruits the one and done players that go pro after one or two years. so i think that stat is a little misleading, however no joke that the players aren't there for school at any of the big programs.

i was always proud that BU has a competitive squad while having the highest graduation rate in the MVC and above the NCAA average, last time i saw it.
 
In todays paper it was noted that Oden had to get ready for two finals, Sociology and get this "The History of Rock and Roll."
What no History of Basketball." Oh, that was Georgia.
Surprised at Cincy, I believe I read once in Sports Illustrated that the only player Huggie ever graduated was Kenyon Martin.
 
its pretty sad when you see most of their majors are gym education, anything just to go to the pros.

i have had class with a few of players, and all seem intelligent. It says something about them, our school, and the coaches. I have seen assistant coaches checking on them during class periods to make sure they are there. Also, they have to sit in the first two rows in class.

Bradley Tops The Valley in Graduation Rate

Bradley University continues to lead the 10 full-time Missouri Valley Conference members in graduation rates. Based on the four-year average of student-athletes who entered school from the start of the 1995-96 academic year through 1998-99, 77 percent of Bradley???‚¬?„?s student-athletes graduated within a six-year window. Creighton (70 percent) was the only other Valley school that graduated at least 65 percent of its student-athletes during the same time frame.



Bradley also remained ahead of the national averages as 62 percent of student-athletes throughout NCAA Division I earned their degrees during the same time frame. The average for Division I-AAA, which is comprised of Division I programs that do not sponsor football, also was 62 percent, while the graduation rate for Division I private schools was 73.4 percent.
