All 10 MVC teams are playing tonight on the first day games can be played.

In the one game that is already underway, SIU leads Little Rock 37-34 at halftime-

SIU lead by as many as 14 points, and Marcus Domask was their leading scorer in the first half with 10 points.
SIU lead 35-27 when Domask got his 2nd foul with 2:35 left in the half and was taken out of the game. Little Rock then outscored SIU 7-2 with Domask on the bench over the final 2:35 to close within 4 points.

Trent Brown, a starter last year, did not play at all so far. He has had a back issue-

And, only 1 of their 3 touted freshmen got into the game, and it was Troy D'Amico for only the final 1 minute of the half. Neither Scottie Ebube nor Foster Wonders, their other two freshmen. played in the first half.

Prior to the game, SIU Head Coach Bryan Mullins was asked about possibly redshirting players, and his reply was that he would wait until "a week or two" into the season to decide about redshirting.

SIU fell behind by 14 midway through the 2nd half, but cut the lead to 67-66 inside the final minute and they had the ball with a chance to win. But a shot clock turnover and poor defense lead to a breakaway dunk by Little Rock to seal the 69-66 win over SIU.

Tough luck for SIU. Lance Jones had 21, nearly all in the 2nd half, and Domask had 13, but only 3 in the 2nd half. Their 23 turnovers were the biggest difference.
 
Loyola had maybe the easiest 10:00 in a half I've seen. Coppin State is just horrible, plays no defense and aren't real good on offense either. 9:00 to go and Loyola leads 35-5. Loyola started on a 14-0 run in the first 3:22. After an old fashioned 3 point play the Ramblers went on a 16-0. Loyola is 8-13 from 3, make that 9-14 as they lead 38-7 with 8:30 left.
 
Valparaiso is the second MVC team to post a loss tonight-

And Evansville makes it 3 MVC losses-

3 other MVC teams- Missouri State, Indiana State, and Illinois State- all trail at halftime, and UNI is tied 27-27 at halftime with Nicholls State.
