Arkansas-Monticello is D2, and played
Crowley's Ridge College in their only game so far, and as one would expect,
clobbered them 94-65. The home
attendance for UAM was 228. It's fair to say they don't have a strong basketball following there in Monticello! They were picked to finish 4th in the Gulf South Conference West Division.

Crowley's Ridge College is not an NCAA school. It is a tiny Christian College that competes in the Association of Christian College Athletics (ACCA). Athletics there is not emphasized, and I suspect most high school basketball teams in the Peoria area would beat them.
So tonight's game at Wichita State will be the first real test for Arkansas-Monticello.
Their leading scorer in the blowout of CRC was
DeAngelo McIntosh. He is a 6'6" wing forward who went to Chicago Julian High School (was a teammate there with Mac Koshwal and Thijin Moses). He was a D1 prospect, but ended up at South Suburban Community College because of academics. He had a nice career at SSCC, too, and had many D1 schools interested in him, but because of academics, never qualified and had to go D2 at UA-M. He had 25 points and 13 rebounds against the undermanned Crowley's Ridge College. Expect him to have a good game against Wichita State, but the Shockers should win this one, though it could be closer than some would expect. If WSU doesn't play well, UA-M could even pull a "shocker".:?
BTW- this game is part of the O'Reilly Auto Parts CBE Classic. Win or lose, Wichita State is one of the 4 major teams that will advance to the semifinals in Kansas City on Nov. 23 & 24, along with Pitt, Texas, and Iowa.
