I know that VCU, Iowa State, and Michigan State come to Peoria next year.

I also heard that BU will be at South Padre Tournament, do we know what other teams will be at this tourney?

Do we know of any other games on next year schedule beside MVC games?

I believe we have a series with Butler that begins next year (not sure who is home first).

According to radio up here in Chicago, expect DePaul to NOT be on the schedule.

Dave Reynolds also reported that Bradley is not going to be in the South Padre Island tournament. Supposedly the field is not that strong, so Bradley did not want to participate. At last writing, they were still considering either the Rainbow Classic, Great Alaskan Shootout, or possibly hosting their own tournament in Peoria.

I strongly dislike Weber (and Illinois) and he knows how bad he would lose here so he wont play us. And I think it would be real neat to host are own tournament and get some big time schools to come and play

not gonna happen- weber already told les he wont play him under any circumstances

Just curious, but do you have a link to where Weber told Les he or U of I would not play Les or BU under any circumstances?

Your statement seems very cut in dry, just would really like to read where this statement occured.

What advantage is there for Illinois to play Bradley? None, there is no up side to playing BU.

I was at the game in Hoffman Estates and it really was a home game for Illinois as about 85% of the crowd was there for Illinois.

So as much as we would like to play Illinois in Peoria it will never happen because it would only have a negative effect for the Illini.

Exactly. Does anyone know about other major schools willing to play Bradley? It would be nice to get some signature games on the road to build a strong resume next year.

anyone taking bets on whether we see Cincinnati on ISU's schedule?

I heard Jerry Wainwright (DePaul's coach) say on the Score 670am that he would not play Bradley. He stated that his team was not developed enough to play Bradley early in the season and the schedule later in the season would not permit it to take place. I think Jerry is one of dumbest coaches in Div I men's basketball, but even he has figured out there is no upside for DePaul to play Bradley.

im not sure of a link- heard snell and stowell talking about it at the bradley-illinois game this year
but it is a lose-lose for illinois though

It has happened before.

I didnt ask about advantages etc, I asked where Weber was quoted as saying he would never play Les ever.

Oh and with the schedule U of I trots out non conference playng a BU can and probably does impact both their SOS and RPI in a positive fashion. And it gives them a "good" win on their resume. God knows they dont have many of those this season.

I personally dont care if U of I plays us ever, thats their loss. I just want to know where it was said that it will never happen ever.

I heard Bruce Weber being interviewed by Mike North on WSCR (an all-sports radio station in Chicago for those outside the midwest) early in this season. He was asked why he doesn't ever schedule other Illinois Div I schools. He talked about how he would like to play SIU since he has a lot of friends and connections still there. But he said he didn't see any benefit to play any of the other schools in Illinois. He specifically said it would elevate the other teams' programs, and would help their recruiting, which could hurt Illinois. So he flatly said if it is up to him, he was not going to play them.

That guy is a supreme idiot! Yeah, he said something to that sort after the game at the time. So not a shock at all. Though I will say that was a bit of a compliment toward Bradley, and an admission that Bradley is a better team than DePaul! :D

Maybe he's still sore that the crowd got on his player after he air-balled a shot! :D

Another moron (see my above post regarding Jerry Wainwright)! That logic is beyond explanation. I like Weber, but not as much as I used to. He obviously has forgotten where he has come from. And yes Bruce, beating Bradley will HELP your resume, not hurt it! Please understand that!

Good for North for calling him out on this! You know he always asks the tough questions.

Why did this forum bleep out the word that starts out id, and ends iot? That's not vulgar term!
