2007 BU commitment- David Collins

BU needed a big the fill the middle and keep teams honest on the perimeter. Now it will be interesting to see if Coley is still coming for his April visit?????
 
I don't like that his coach talked about his ability to shoot from the outside. BU will have 4 other guys on the floor that can shoot from the perimeter. I hope he is a back-to-the-basket post player.

If he gets rebounds, I'm happy.

His numbers are far from impressive? I dont get this one but I know Jim knows what we need. I wonder if things are not going well with the other bigs?

Eeek - looking at his "stats" we might just be back to trusting the coaching staff.
 
The PJS article says he runs the floor well......so I have faith in the staff that this kid can help out right away! :wink: I also still think C. Coley will visit...but this is a good move IMO...CC is a 3/4...6'7 @ 205 lbs....we already have guys in that size! :wink:
 
i definitely agree. WE DO NOT WANT AN OUTSIDE SHOOTING BIG MAN!!! we need to work with him and make sure he knows his spot on offense. this is pretty exciting though. no question we needed a juco big this year. hopefully he's more of a POB than a BH. this really excites me for the season though!
 
I know Bradley had offers out to several big men, and with the uncertainty regarding the others, they couldn't afford to get shut out. So when Collins wanted to commit, they had to take him. I believe the coaches will continue to recruit the couple guys they have higher on their list.
 
Looks like the Braves have 3 players on that JUCO list with Cole-Scott PG.....Collins #8 center and D Williams #8 SF! 8)

The school and the coaches cannot comment on recruits until they sign a LOI, so if the kid or the kid's coach are sure he is verballing, then they might just call the local paper with the tip, and I suspect that's how this happened.
Dave Reynolds does do a very fine job covering BU basketball.
