I think this years team which looks to have GREAT guards will keep turnovers down. I also agree with whoever brought up the point of big men with good hands, I hope DC has good hands, because as much as I love MS, he does not, he mishandles balls often. Either way I expect the rebound margin to improve(a result of better interior defense in a lot of ways).
I definitly do not disagree that turnovers are vital and equally as important as rebounding. What started all of this was the statement that rebounds were overrated. My point was in basketball, to me, the game boils down to who has more possessions and scores more points. The more points is extremely obvious, but the number of possessions is vital to scoring more.
Digging a bit into BU this past season, our biggest glaring weakness was rebounding and we were out rebounded by nearly 7 rebounds per game and in several games we were out rebounded by double digits.
A rebound a turnover a missed free throw are all things that can change a game from a win to a lose or vice versa. In '06-'07 we saw that poor rebounding directly lead in several games to us losing the game. Maybe not the only reason but a very strong possibility.
