Tyrone Cole-Scott, who we have reported was at the game last night and really liked Bradley, has given Jim Les a verbal commitment. He is originally from Waterloo, Iowa. He has spent the last 2 seasons at Tyler Junior College, in Tyler, Texas. He is a 5'10" shooting guard who scored 1,021 career points in 2 years at Tyler JC. He averaged 19.7 ppg as a freshman, and 16.1 ppg this year as a soph. He collected 1st Team All Region Honors this past season. Tyrone made 185 three-pointers the last two seasons.
He planned to visit Creighton, but obviously cancelled those plans. From what I hear, this kid is an explosive scorer, and can be a difference-maker.

Here are clips from the premium article--

Tyrone Cole-Scott just returned from an official visit to Bradley???‚¬?¦and he did so as the newest member of the Braves' 2007 recruiting class. Cole-Scott was in attendance for the Braves victory over Providence in the NIT Tourney.

"Tyrone loved the atmosphere and the family like conditions of the team," said Head
Coach Mike Marquis. "Tyrone will really excel in the style of play of Bradley."

I'm surprised this is hitting news when we have no available scholarships... I'm hoping (well maybe not really hoping-- as there's no one on the roster that I don't wish well) that he's not our last commit for next season or we'll be thinner in the post next year than this year.

Yeah, I don't know, one of the students was telling a little something about this guy, saying lat night that no one knew he was committing to Bradley yet or something, and something about an extra scholarship???? I don't know what he was saying, it was during the game so I wasn't paying really close attention.

This guy sounds like a great player though, I hope he comes to Bradley!

Are we really going to have two additional scholarships opening up for next year? If not, I find this move pretty confusing, since it seems like we're already got more guards than we can play, and we are definitely going to need more help in the post. He does seem like he might be quite a player though.

Coach, when you say we'll be hearing about a big man soon, are you talking about someone specific?

LOL. I just read Dave Reynold's article, and I thought it was just really strange and out of place where after describing Cole-Scott's major accomplishments in basketball, he goes on to say the kid will also be the first Bradley player to have a hyphenated name.

This sounds like another great recruit but I have to wonder that if we do get a center too who the 2 players are that will not be on the roster next season; I have a good idea who one of them is but there must be some unknown circumstances about the other one; with that being said I trust the coaching staff as whatever happens it will be for the good of the team.
