2008 BU commitment- Taylor Brown

Dad is Rick Brown....former NBA center. He got low major offers but dad thought he could do better. Home schooled him for hoops and he grew 1" and 10 lbs.

Played in an event recently and JL and Iowa State both offered.

Sounds like he has some upside.

Welcome to BU Taylor. Seriously I thought this was a very late April fools joke. I guess that means no chance on the Indiana transfer, his loss.

I have no cred....:)

Honestly that was one of the reasons I thought it was a joke :)

The Indiana guy though would not be available this season he though would need this years scollie so the use of this one on Taylor means no transfers. Which is ok.

Getting a player with a dad who played in the NBA and that many years of pro experience is a I think a very good thing and probably a huge upside.

Wow..First off, welcome to BU Taylor.

This is an interesting addition to the team for a number of reasons.imo

* He committed to Bradley without visiting the campus which I find a little odd.

* He had an offer from Iowa State which in some strange way makes me feel a little better about this.

* I like that we added a forward with the last scholarship.

I came across this about Taylor Brown's older sister, Jade Brown--

She was a scholarship volleyball player at the University of Maryland 2003-2007.

And here are father Rick Brown's NBA stats. He was 6'10", 215 lbs, and played at Mississippi State University, was a 1st round draft pick by the Golden State Warriors (13th pick overall), and played 2 1/2 seasons with them, then played 2 1/2 seasons with the Atlanta Hawks.--

This should put to rest all the McGee talk with no more scholies left to hand out! Welcome Taylor to the BU Family!

As I stated earlier doesn't the team he transfers to have to petition the NCAA for him to play right away?

He could STILL come here and play next year I would think?
