2010-2011 Schedule

From off the top of my head-
Home game against Utah.
Tournament in November- Hall of Fame Classic- 2 home games and 2 in Massachusetts (UMass and USC probable), I think.
Return game to Drexel from last year's Bracketbuster.
Home game against Northern Illinois.
Road game at Western Carolina.
MVC schedule.
And probably another Bracket Buster game.

Any ideas how good USC, WCU, and UMASS are supposed to be next year? Also why did you say probably another bracket buster game? Is there a chance the Valley might pull out this year or soon?

I think you have to have a certain record to qualify for the BB game. Right?

edit- I think the conferences select their participating teams.

I said probably because everything I have heard suggests the MVC teams will participate again next year, but I am not sure the decision has been made at the conference office yet.

I suppose it's time to just assume Butler has bought out of the rest of our series? We were forced out of the game last year and I'd hate for one to force out the other again. Argh.

With the 2 for 1s with MSU and IaSt history now, I'd like to see a new one from a power conference.

Is the WCU series a 2 for 1?

USC was a muddling team in a dreadful Pac-10 last year. They have a whack job for a coach so I wouldn't expect much more than middle of the pack again. UMass was 12-20 last year and finished 3rd from the bottom of the 14 team Atlantic 10, so I wouldn't expect much from them either. The schedule isn't exactly lighting my hair on fire as it's currently comprised, but I think the tournament in Massachusetts over Thanksgiving is an upgrade from the tournament we had been looking at previously.

We will still be trying to add a couple more games right? I'd like to get a big name up there, what happened to the St. Mary's and Villanova rumors??

Disappointing schedule to me right now considering Butler and New Mexico/UNLV were all possibilities. I know it is probably the best we can do, but I hope we are still looking to add a big game or 2 right? In a possible at large year, I can't see one name up there that will get us any national attention at all, or put us in at large talk. Looks like we will have to have a UNI type season to make the dance.

I would love to see a marquee game too (who wouldn't?) but if we just take care of business and win the games we have, we'll get our piece.

I thought the Drexel return game has the option to wait until the '11/'12 season (MVC wanted to even out the 2 home or 2 road games BB mandated each year)

I think you are wrong... regarding the MVC and MVC teams. I believe MVC teams aren't required to have a "qualifying record" and I don't believe the MVC decides who gets to play (and not play) in the event. Maybe other Conferences and schools have different criteria for participation.

I thought we were waiting till the '11-'12 season for the Bracketbuster return game. Sorry, early morning...

I like the NIU game and I'm hoping we do play at UIC. At UIC was the last, in person game I saw, we lost the game - so we owe them a win for us in their own place. Sat in a big group of Bradley fans, was a good game we might have won but they had one kid that just never missed - wish I could remember the name. I also hope we play USC, USC is one of my biggest memories from Bradley when Joe Allen & Co. beat them 102-97. I'm pretty sure that's the last time they've played us. I can live with whatever schedule we come up with, if we can win them all it will take care of everything.

I am about a 1 mi. walk from UIC gym, so if we play them, I'll be there 4 sho!...with my buddy, who's a BU alum.

Since beating USC in 1966 102-97, we then lost to them 3 straight times:
1974 Lost 76-73 (OT, played in St Louis)
2000 Lost 107-92 (at USC)
2001 Lost 60-50 (at Carver)
