2010 BU recruit- Jordan Brown

Sounds like another good summertime pick up by the Braves. Any word when MO's situation is going to be decided.

As far as MO is concerned....he is still wanting to come to bradley and waiting on the paperwork.

That is out of his mouth.

Other than that...........NCAA.

Going by what FWO says about MO & what D.Reyolds said in the PJS,

"Bradley still has one basketball scholarship to give for next season.

It would go to Michael Ocherobia, a 6-8 post player who last played for a prep school in the Canary Islands, if the academic paperwork arrives in good order and he is admitted to school, a source told the Journal Star."

Am I to assume that the only hurdle for MO is the BU admissions & he's cleared the NCAA?

The NCAA "clears" prospective student-athletes in TWO ways..amateurism & academics...

1- by clearing them as amateurs...and if they don't pass this test, they are docked games but can still play somewhere down the road. This is the rule was was used to penalize Lucca Staiger and was JW was initially given a 5-game penalty.

2- for initial academic eligibility - they have to meet certain pre-determined academic requirements in order to gain entry to any NCAA school - based on grades, courses, and test scores......and this is what John Wilkins was denied admission because of, and same for many other kids who end up going juco.

then there is a 3rd hurdle to clear - the kid also has to meet the individual University's admission requirements - and some schools are stricter than others. This is the mechanism that kept DeAaron Williams out of Bradley - but allowed him to go elsewhere.

At this time we do not know where those processes are in regard to MO...

Well this is good news. Seems like a great get, especially for a walk-on. The fact that he can get an academic scholie is a great thing to have to, gotta love that.

Sorry if I missed it, but does anyone know how good of a 3 point shooter this kid is? That is the one thing I have been wanting for the year after this year's team.

In the highlight film he makes several. Appears to have a bit of a "push" shot like Crouch had in HS. Hopefully he'll have the same eye.

But I thought we already had a Jordan and a Brown on our team?
I like his 3-pt. shot - good follow-through.
Would be nice if he plays good D with his quickness and length.

No dunk highlights??

dunk highlights don't mean a lot...unless you're 51 years old...

Just about every recruit on the Top 1000 rankings can dunk

Ya you don't always know from a highlight video though, because it is obviously intended to look good. From the video though it seems to be a somewhat quick shot, and he keeps the ball high when he catches it so that's good.

I don't think he was enrolled for the summer sessions, so he wouldn't have been listed prior to the fall classes starting. However, I haven't heard any reports of him being with the team either.

He has not been with the team at any of their events thus far -- maybe he's going to redshirt...I also haven't seen Ned...but it doesn't mean he's not around, maybe he's hitting the books

BTW -- the roster has been updated, and Ned is NOT on the roster any more...his name was there a few weeks ago but no longer..
Walt Lemon has #25, Andrew Davis has #23, Egolf has changed from #21 to #54..

Prosser is up from 220lb to 240lb
Dodie is up 5 lb
TB is up almost 20 lbs (and we have seen this is not exaggerated)
Milos is up almost 15 lb
AT is up to 232lb

..and for the first time since 2003-2004 there is no Sam Singh on the roster!

According to this article from April, Bradley was one of several schools Jordan was looking at http://www.ajc.com/news/atlanta/students-try-to-find-471603.html.

However, he was also looking at his late father's alma mater of Morehouse College which is in his hometown of Atlanta.

Not sure if this is him, but this Jordan Brown's facebook says he goes to Morehouse http://www.facebook.com/jordanbrown10.

I think it is him, and he has moved on based on all the info we have heard.

I did a little sleuthing based on that facebook profile, and I don't think that is him.

First of all, his network is Morehouse, 2010. Which means that he would have graduated high school in 2006 and would be 22 years old currently and either a recent grad or soon-to-be grad. The other Jordan Brown would be 18 and would be expected to graduate in 2014.

I also compared his facebook profile picture with this confirmed photograph of the Jordan Brown that committed to Bradley

http://www.ajc.com/news/atlanta/students-try-to-find-471603.html

They look somewhat similar, but if you look closely, the kid in the facebook profile picture has a tattoo on his right forearm. On the picture of Jordan Brown holding the basketball, there is no tattoo. Not saying you're wrong, but it's my opinion that these are two different people. Still, it is strange that we haven't heard anything about him.
