I am hearing from someone who has inside knowledge that UW-Milwaukee will hire Michigan assistant LaVall Jordan as their next head coach to replace Rob Jeter.

LaVall Jordan was a finalist for an assistant coach position at Bradley back in June, 2010, when Bradley chose Willie Scott to replace Alvin Brooks III after he left Jim Les' staff. At that time, LaVall Jordan was an assistant at Iowa under Todd Lickliter. Shortly after he lost out on the Bradley assistant job in 2010, he was hired by John Beilein at Michigan. Prior to Iowa, he was an assistant with Lickliter at Butler, where he played his college career.
 
With Milwaukee hiring LaVall Jordan, there are now 10 Division I jobs still open-

This is a strange one-
FGCU head coach Joe Dooley considering joining NC State staff as an assistant

Joe Dooley left his job as Bill Self's top assistant at Kansas to take the FGCU job in 2013, but now after having some success in his 3 seasons at FGCU (three 20+ win seasons and 65 wins in his 3 years there), he is considering going back to being an assistant under Mark Gottfried at N.C. State.
For the record, Gottfired has underachieved at N.C. State, going just 16-17 last year (his 5th season) and just 5-13 and an embarrassing 13th place in the ACC. His record has gradually gotten worse each season there, and there are rumors he'll be on the hot seat next season if it doesn't improve significantly. So maybe Dooley is being given some assurances he'll get the head coaching job there if Gottfried is fired, or maybe it's just about money. But it seems like an odd move to me.

I am actually surprised that Geno Ford's name has not been mentioned in connection with any of these jobs.
Obviously he's had some past success, and just about anyone with coaching experience or ability gets mentioned every year..even coaches who have been fired....
Also - of all the prior staff, we still haven't heard a word where Cole Pittis landed after being fired last year.
Only he and Dr. Glasser have yet to surface somewhere else.

Another unusual move- Tubby Smith leaves his job at Texas Tech to take the job at Memphis. But maybe not so surprising. Memphis seems like a lot nicer place to live than Lubbock, Texas.
 
In recent years, there have been around 50-60 coaching changes each year. The Texas Tech opening (from Tubby Smith leaving to take the Memphis job) is the 48th opening this season.

Another very unusual situation- Chris Beard, who had success in his one season at Arkansas Little-Rock, agreed to take the UNLV job just a week ago. But then the Texas Tech job opened this week when Tubby Smith unexpectedly left to take the job at Memphis. Beard, who had been an assistant at Texas Tech for 10 years prior to accepting the job at Arkansas Little-Rock, realized he really preferred the job at Texas Tech, and there are reports that he met with officials last night and accepted the Texas Tech head coaching job.

Despite the obvious grammatical mistake by the UNLV AD ("disappointing to the President and I"?), it is clear that UNLV was not too happy with Chris Beard leaving to take the Texas Tech job.
