2017 NCAA tournament

JL makes it back to the dance.

Maybe we should have stuck with him?

Not saying our current coach can't do it but we just finished the 2nd year with him so it'll take awhile.

For those interested there are other Championships about to be determined...

The NCAA Division I Championship will be determined April 3 and of course, there are currently 68 teams still alive

The NCAA Division II Championship will be determined March 25, and there are currently just 8 teams still alive

The NCAA Division III Championship will be determined March 18, and they are down to the Final Four - Whitman, Babson, Williams, and Augustana (IL) (Augustana has Sam Koeppel from Limestone HS)

The NAIA Division I Championship will be determined March 21 and they are just starting tomorrow with 32 teams

The NAIA Division II Championship will be determined TONIGHT! The Championship game is set for 7pm on ESPN3 (if you can watch ESPN3, just click on this link to watch - LINK)
...The game is between Union College (KY) and Cornerstone Univ. (MI).
Cornerstone (Grand Rapids, MI) won in 2011 & 2015, and Union is in their 1st Title game ever but have been ranked #1 most of the season and have a 33 game winning streak!

Ooops...the BCS boys didn't do so good last night...especially the vaunted ACC who argued their entire conference deserved to be in the NCAA and get top seeds...

Wake Forest LOST to a team a whole lot of people said shouldn't even be in the NCAA

Clemson lost to a far lower seeded mid-major, Oakland

Alabama lost to Richmond in NIT

Pac-12 Utah lost to lower seed Boise State

Cal lost to Bakersfield

Syracuse lost to a few inches of snow

The other big school losing - Indiana...could be Tom Crean's last game there?

btw- Jim Les has averaged more than 19 wins per year over the last 3 years...for a team that had averaged less than 8 wins per year for the years that they were in DI up thru 2011 when Jim Les was hired there

a couple more big boys going down - Middle Tennessee just humiliated Minnesota..
and a lot of big boys struggling - Maryland, Virginia, WV and even Villanova for more than a half..

Go Aggies!

Xavier, no football, 6000 enrollment, total athletic budget about 1/12 of Texas or Michigan State... and 1/10 of Maryland's
it could be debated but it sure isn't Maryland

Wichita did get screwed. The committee else eves they are the 37th-40th best team in the country yet they are ranked 20th in the AP poll...total screw job.

In the end though they probably weren't going to get higher than a 7 seed so I'm not sure how difference it makes this year. And I would rather play Kentucky next than North Carolina if you were and 8-9 seed

Glad Michigan Won

Glad Michigan Won

I used to root for Louisville because they were in the MVC back in the day. The teams are good. The fans are intense but, sportsman-like, in my experience. I can't root for them because of who is coaching them now.

I'm glad Michigan won.

of the 16 games this weekend, the team that shot the better 3-pt percentage won 13 of 16...
Just saying...we need to recruit shooters......

Couldn't agree more. +1000

Historically a lot of top winning coaches are fine role models...guys like Dean Smith, Lou Carnesecca, K, Izzo, Jay Wright, Dick Bennett, Tony Bennett, etc..
but more and more nowadays, it takes a different personality to survive at the top & win...so I am not sure I can say the same about most of today's coaches

I can't figure out why coaches are hated by so many. IMO, all coaches act the same. If they have a call go against them they get upset just like we all would. Might be because they are winners and a lot of people just don't like winners.

Rooting For Wichita State

Rooting For Wichita State

I was hoping the Wichita State would win against Kentucky. The team played gritty, but just couldn't make those last 2 shots. I am proud of the way the team played.
