2018 & Beyond recruiting targets

list updated - Evan Gilyard removed - verballed to UTEP - some others added

2017 - since we are two-over it's doubtful we will get any more 2017 commits until or unless another scholarship opens
Damir Hadzic - Bradley has reportedly offered, talented 6-9 forward - also holds offer from FGCU (see above)
Thomas Pupavac - offered - we sent one of our coaches all the way to Australia to check this guy & others out so this offer must be serious! The "others" are 2018- see below
Christian Negron - new offer from BRADLEY - LINK - now injured and out for the year
Ryan Stipanovich - VERBALLED to Bradley on 8/16/16 - just offered on 7/26/16 by Bradley
Elijah Childs - just recently offered and committed to Bradley - First mentioned here - LINK
Romon Douglas-Watkins - I moved him up on the list because of a recent mention - LINK - but he will probably lose a lot of offers/interest due to injury
Yaakema Rose - Springfield point guard- no report of offer yet
Melo Burrell
Zach Gunn- prob kinda off the board as he's got offers from Purdue & Indiana
Aundrae Williams
Ra Kpedi
Manuel Patterson - just visited Milwaukee, UIC
Darien Jackson - new video
Isaiah Coleman - now goes by Isaiah Coleman-Lands - brother of Illini player
Michael Tucker - Invited to a TOP 100 Juco Camp this weekend - LINK - was previously offered and signed but I doubt current staff has offered

2018
Gaven Pinkley - visiting Bradley today, August 17, 2016!
Bailey Dee - just visited Bradley on 8/9/2016
De'Avion Washington - just visited Bradley but our guys have been on him since last summer - LINK- no offer yet
Naseer Turner - also visiting on August 27, 2106
Lachlan Dent, Uche Dibiamaka, Alex Mudronja, and possibly Davo Hickey - all Australian guards that our staff have viewed, but also have viewed some 2018 big men
Eric Hunter
Hunter White
Lacey Watson
Torrence Watson - just offered - LINK
Kevin Easley - recently confirmed his Bradley offer - LINK - LINK
Chase Adams - has new highlight video - LINK - still a good PG option for 2018, and Bradley has reportedly offered - LINK
Kezo Brown - already getting big time offers - here's a new story - this report says Bradley has offered
Then a bunch of new names that Bradley is watching - Tyree Martin, Treavon Martin, Talen Horton-Tucker, Mitch Listau, Carlos Curtis, Xavier Castaneda - more info on all of them here --> LINK

2019
Michael Moreno - just visited and got offered August 27, 2016
Sydney Curry - Bradley has offered - LINK LINK
Luther Taylor
Cyrus Alexander
Chol Marial - friend of Koch Bar, rated #1 in Class of 2019
**** Class of 2019 Chol Marial recently played at the Adidas Nation and was playing for an African team vs. the TOP US 2017 players-
so he was facing the very best kids two years older...and still had a great game - 8-9 from the floor, 18 pts, 9 rebs, 3 blk - LINK

..
Elijah Joiner - getting numerous offers- Bradley has reportedly offered ....

Elijah Joiner commits to Tulsa
ISU wanted him but I think we dropped off......

edit- in one interview Joiner refers to some "ups and downs" in his recruitment and talks about some of his offers drying up due his waiting too long in deciding...
.... schools that were on his list went ahead as filled their scholarships not wanting to wait any longer for Joiner to make his decision.

Strangely- in verballing to Tulsa- he puts them one-over. They have only one senior and had already taken a verbal from DaQuan Jeffries so now Tulsa has to trim someone by fall of 2017.

One time Bradley recruiting target Jordan Goodwin commits to Saint Louis and new head coach Travis Ford..
Illini folks were pretty hopeful they'd get Goodwin

Another one of Illinois' top recruiting targets has spurned them. They recently lost out on top 2017 Illinois recruit Jordan Goodwin, who committed to St. Louis, and today, the top 2018 recruit in the state of Missouri, 5-star big man Carte'Are Gordon, also committed to St. Louis and spurned the Illini.
New St. Louis Head Coach Travis Ford is building a nice program in St. Louis with far higher level recruits than Jim Crews was able to land.

Here's a kid nearby to maybe keep an eye on.... right now he's a virtual unknown (but he won't be for long) with very little on him.
Tray Croft - a 6-1 FRESHMAN lefty combo guard at Iowa Western juco - (recruiting Class of 2018)
in his first four games as a freshman he is averaging 29.5 ppg, hitting 55%, plus 38% from the arc, and 8.5 rpg, 5.3 assists

Last night he had a triple double 33 pts, 11 rebs, 11 asst, 3 steals
http://www.njcaa.org/sports/mbkb/2016-17/div2/players/traycroft7f89
http://www.easportstoday.com/2016/04/09/croft-commits-to-iowa-jc/

He had no offers out of high school, but he is from Anniston, AL, and his high school is small,
about 500 enrollment (about the same as Eureka HS), and during his senior season he was just 5-10 and about 130 lbs - and he's grown since then

Croft plays at Iowa Central Community College, not Iowa Western.

I have dropped off the names of those who have committed elsewhere and updated a few others..

but check the stuff at the bottom on a 2019 kid we were the first (& still the only) to offer...Michael Moreno

2019 Michael Moreno who has already visited Bradley & gotten an offer - has "a slightly more athletic version of Alec Peters"
written all over him....we need to stay on the kid and hope for the best!

New St. Louis Head Coach Travis Ford is building a nice program in St. Louis with far higher level recruits than Jim Crews was able to land.

was just reading a little in the St. Louis press....
Saint Louis University just beat Chicago State who lost an 8pm game in Peoria last Saturday (83-48) - then had to travel to St. Louis and play a 2pm game the very next day - literally having only a total of about 12 hours between leaving our arena and having to be at their arena for another game.

That game was an ugly 45-43 loss by Chicago State with bad shooting all around.
That gave Saint Louis just their 3rd win this season (3-6) mixed in with several 20 point and even three 30-point blowout losses.
Most fans are willing to give new head coach Travis Ford some time to rebuild but already a few fans are unhappy and claiming that no matter how bad Jim Crews' last couple years were, they still weren't this bad and that maybe Crews deserved a little more patience.

I find this all interesting because of what we've been through - but just 2 years ago they were coming off a 27-7 season (13-3 in A10), and had won 26 & 28 games each of the two prior years. Add the fact that some of the media seems to not like Travis Ford - and now just 9 games into his stint at SLU, you have some pretty harsh coverage and some bitter comments on the Billikens' message board.

In an area rivalry game, Saint Louis hosts SIU tonight - and Barry Hinson is also coming off an ugly game - a loss to Sam Houston State in which Barry was pretty ticked and didn't hold back and sounds like he's promising some lineup changes using his own interesting style....

"SIU men's basketball coach Barry Hinson pulled no punches at Tuesday's
press conference to discuss the upcoming game against Saint Louis.

He has not been happy with the Salukis in recent games and made it clear
that he was ready to try something new.

???We gotta shake up the lineup,??? he told reporters after a home loss to Sam
Houston State. ???I think it??™s time. We??™ve got some guys that are really
comfortable. I can??™t imagine we??™ll start the same lineup against St. Louis on
Wednesday.???

In a 5-5 season where the same five have started every game, Hinson could
pull out a whole new lineup Wednesday night at SIU Arena.
"I am going to pick a starting five guys out there that I know are going to be
enthusiastic and will give us great, great energy," Hinson said. "If they aren't
going to do that, then it may look like a hockey game for a while. We may
have guys coming over the rail. We are going to play guys who want to play."

La Lumiere won 85-63 over New Albany...
the best player on the floor was New Albany's junior Romeo Langford...but La Lumiere has a lot of DI guys...
Tyger Campbell is a good PG, Jaren Jackson is a 6-9 big man going to Michigan State and Brian Bowen is a 5-Star undecided kid & Jacob Epperson & Kevin Zhang - two raw but talented 6-11 kids

since our staff has gone to see him more than once, I added Kenny Strawbridge to the 2018 list

2017 - Ryan Stipanovich & Elijah Childs already signed (have to wait & see if any more 2017 scholarships open up)
Romon Douglas-Watkins - I moved him up on the list because of a recent mention - LINK - but he will probably lose a lot of offers/interest due to injury

it is funny how little the standard recruiting sites care about mid-majors...
Rivals still has Elijah Childs listed as Undecided, and scout.com doesn't even have Elijah Childs in their dtatabase
https://n.rivals.com/content/prospects/7400

Some update of names on these lists...

2017- not sure who we are still targeting, might have to wait to see if any additional scholarships available
-Romon Douglas-Watkins has yet to play this yr due to injury, word is that he's doing well & hoping to play before the end of the season.
-Yaakema Rose - 5-9 PG won the MVP at Pekin Tournament for #1 ranked Springfield Lanphier, does not appear to have a DI offer yet.
-Romelo Burrell - a little undersized as a 6-6 fwd has only a UIC offer, but UIC is oversigned X 1 for next yr so I doubt that offer still stands
-Michael Tucker - at John A. Logan juco - not played since early December - was said to be gone due to emergency in his family but no word since what's going on

2018- not known how many scholarships we might have
- Kenny Strawbridge- Rockford Lutheran is 8-7 but Strawbridge has been hampered a couple games due to a knee injury
- Gaven Pinkley - avg 22 ppg, 1 rpg but again smaller school opponents
- De'Avion Washington - having some really good games - LINK
- Torrence Watson is really blowing up - LINK

2019
-Michael Moreno - still mentions Bradley offer but he's blowing up - LINK
-Luther Taylor and Cyrus Alexander both play on the same team as Torrence Watson, so they don't get a lot of shots - LINK

Loyola just offered a 2018 kid named Duane Washington, Jr....Grand Rapids Christian School..
sound familiar?? He is the son of Duane Washington who played in the NBA..and he's getting attention from much bigger schools ...tom Izzo...
http://www.mlive.com/sports/2016/09/duane_washington_jr.html
https://www.landof10.com/michigan-s...michigan-state-commits-show-out-in-highlights

and just tonight, I was checking on some juco results (Davante Cooper, at Tyler juco, has put up only 2 pts & 8 rebs in his last 2 games combined)
...but Tyler just got beat by San Jacinto juco and they have a kid named Corey Davis...
Corey Davis is a 6-2 SG (a sophomore, Class of 2017) who averages almost 20 ppg and shoots almost 50% from 3-pt (45-97)
San Jacinto is 16-0, with only 2 of their games being closer than 12 pts - they just beat previously undefeated Tyler 74-66 & NW FL State 94-77
otherwise their average margin of victory in 16 games is 23 points per game! LINK
and Davis is their leader...he is a prolific scorer and is unsigned and I hope we keep in touch with the kid!
