2018 & Beyond recruiting targets

Surely Conditt knows Iowa State is big time Transfer U and all those experienced transfers get preferred playing time..
 
unlike each of the past few years - next spring won't have 3 or 4 unexpected departures....
..so I think our staff thinks they may have just those two scholarships and are going to be pretty selective...

I think you can tell by who we've offered...
that we might be targeting an athletic forward and another guy with PG skills..
 
It has often been pointed out that almost every year at least one recruit transfers, possibly for more playing time or to be closer to home.
 
One new name to report that Bradley has been in contact with-

Darrell Riley- a 5'9" point guard who will play this season at Williston State College, a junior college in Williston, North Dakota. He played last season (2016-17) at Mississippi Valley State where he played 25.5 minutes per game, and averaged 9.0 ppg, 2.4 rpg, and 2.9 apg, and shot 43.5% from three.

He is originally from North High School in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where he lead the state of Wisconsin in scoring his senior season with 38.2 ppg (2014-15). He redshirted his first season at MVSU (2015-16).

by the 1st week of October last year (2016) we were overcommitted by TWO - so we knew two guys were leaving early
I doubt we will find BU overcommitted this year.
 
First we need two before we can think of being over committed.

However, it would not be surprising if at least one of those might commit next spring.
 
I agree- but I think our staff would love to lock in two commits this fall from the top of our list of guys targeted.... just like last year...but if not, then one of our scholarships might get filled in the spring

Mickey Pearson is a kid the coaches really like and feel they have a good chance at landing.

So here is another new name that Bradley is following-

2018 Austin Downing- a 6'0" point guard at Neosho County Community College in Chanute, Kansas. He is originally from Eudora, kansas HS.
As a freshman at Neosho last season, he started 19 of 30 games, averaged 12.8 ppg, and shot 46.5% overall. He shot 35.9% from three. He also averaged 3.7 rpg and 2.6 apg.
