Drake picks up another late transfer-
Former Siena point guard Roman Penn is transferring to Drake. He is 5'11", and averaged 9.7 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 3.0 assists per game last season for Siena as a freshman, and he shot 33.8% from three-
http://www.espn.com/mens-college-basketball/player/_/id/4279754/roman-penn
He missed the last 9 games of the season with a stress fracture in his heel. He eventually had surgery. Siena was reported to have been his only D1 offer in 2017. The coach that recruited and coached him last season, Jimmy Patsos, is no longer at Siena. He resigned after allegations arose of player abuse, and was replaced by Jamion Christian. Multiple other Siena players have left and transferred already.
He is originally from Seattle, but was living in Calumet City, Illinois while attending Bishop Noll High School in Hammond Indiana. He also did a year at Don Bosco Prep School in Crown Point, Indiana.

He joined Siena in mid-season during the 2016-17 season. He entered Siena in January, 2017 for their second semester, and sat out the remainder of that season, thus was charged a redshirt year. He will have to sit out next season due to NCAA transfer rules, and will only have 2 years of eligibility at Drake starting in 2019-20.

Indiana State Sycamores pick up a late addition
https://gosycamores.com/news/2018/6/4/allante-holston-transfers-to-sycamore-basketball-program.aspx

Allante Holston- a grad transfer from North Texas

"To be able to add Allante Holston right now is huge," head coach Greg Lansing said.
"We feel like he is the missing piece ....He gives us the versatility that we need ...
We are really excited and fortunate to sign him at this time. ..Holston joins a talented crop of newcomers.."

His stats at North Texas - 37 games, 18.3 min per game, 3.1 ppg, 2.9 rpg, 44% FG%, 66% FT%

There could still be more late additions, since I cannot recall a previous season when there as many open scholarships among the MVC teams as we still have now that we are into June, and as many uncommitted transfers who are still on the board.

According to this list of 2018 D1 transfers, there are almost 300 of them still uncommitted, plus there are still some potential D1 caliber junior college transfers available-

You're missing Shea Feehan for Evansville. The Aces are now down to 1 open scholarship according to the Courier Press.

Oh, and thanks for putting this together. Love the one-stop-shop to see the view of all who have signed in the Valley.

Evansville adds one more kid - a walk-on
Devan Straub, a transfer from IU- Kokomo, likely will have to sit out a year...

...
Evansville - Rosel Hurley, DeAndre Williams, Jawaun Newton, Shamar Samuels-Givance, Shea Feehan - grad transfer eligible immediately Will Becker (1 open scholarships)

Evansville sent out a press release announcing their 2018 recruiting class with information on all their new players. However, the press release included only 5 of the above 6 players who had committed. The one omitted was 6'5" junior college shooting guard Rosel Hurley-
http://verbalcommits.com/players/rosel-hurley

It is being rumored that there are academic issues or some other reason the NCAA Clearinghouse has not cleared him to enroll at Evansville.

That will leave them a bit thin at the SG position, and may mean more playing time for Peoria native and Peoria Notre Dame & Eureka College grad Shea Feehan.

Evansville will also be very short on point guards next season.
Their Verbalcommits.com player grid only shows 3 point guards on their roster for 2018-19, and none of them have ever played a game at the Division I level-
Shea Feehan, a grad transfer from D3 Eureka College who may not be quick enough to play point guard at this level
Devan Straub, a 6'2" walk-on guard who had no D1 offers out of high school, spent 2016-17 at IU-Kokomo, which recdently moved up to NAIA, and he transferred to UE a year ago and sat out last season
And Shamar Samuels-Givance, a 5'8" incoming freshman recruit from Canada who just signed a couple weeks ago and only had 1 other D1 offer (from High Point).
http://verbalcommits.com/schools/evansville

I have always wondered why they NEVER sent out a single tweet or release about signing Hurley even tho it was reported that they got the verbal from him way back in early April in the first couple days of the signing period. I have to wonder if any of them will redshirt.

Missouri State lands a late transfer-
University of Nevada sophomore Josh Hall, a 6'7" wing player has left Nevada, and will transfer to Missouri State. He will sit out next season and have 2 years of eligibility starting in 2019-20.

Here are his stats in his 2 seasons at Nevada-

I think there have been more off season changes/additions/subtractions this year than ever before...

wow- making a run for Transfer U- taking them 3 at a time like ISU does...
Someone else has to be leaving or this pushes them over the limit...even with Fofana going on injured reserve and maybe not being counted against the scholarship limit.

edit - well here's an answer- juco signee Darnell Butler either must not have qualified for enrollment...or there is some other reason he is not joining the team
..so he's gone and one of the transfers gets his scholarship... https://www.news-leader.com/story/s...tler-jr-leaving-basketball-program/728065002/

Rosel Hurley, a 6'5" junior college guard that new Evansville Head Coach Walter McCarty was counting on to help his team rebuild this coming season, was not mentioned when UE sent out their official press release 6/21/18 about their new recruits. It was rumored that there were academic issues, but they were still hoping those could be resolved.
But today, Hurley's father informed the Evansville Courier-Press newspaper that his son would not be attending UE. No further explanation was given. So that leaves their roster at 11 players (6 returning players and 5 new players). They have 2 available scholarships.

Also, Valparaiso picked up a late transfer- one-time Bradley recruit from Chicago Kenwood Academy, Nick Robinson, has transferred to Valpo-
http://bradleyfans.com/vb/showthread.php?t=24240
http://bradleyfans.com/vb/showthread.php?p=284940#post284940

He was a fairly highly rated recruit in the Illinois class of 2016 who initially committed to Indiana State, but then backed out and went to St. Joseph's University-
http://bradleyfans.com/vb/showthread.php?p=825121915#post825121915
.
He was a part-time starter at St. Joseph's, and averaged 5.2 ppg as a freshman and 7.7 ppg as a sophomore. He has a career 3-point percentage of 28.9% in his 2 seasons.
He will have to sit out this coming season and will have 2 years of eligibility at Valparaiso starting in 2019-20.

Rosel Hurley, a 6'5" junior college guard...would not be attending UE.
So that leaves their roster at 11 players (6 returning players and 5 new players). They have 2 available scholarships.

Evansville coaches and fans were very hopeful that one of their open scholarships might be filled by a grad-transfer from University of South Florida, Troy Holston, who made a visit to Evansville in June. He missed 2 seasons with injury at USF, and would be eligible immediately upon transfer, and could have possibly 2 years of eligibility.
https://www.courierpress.com/story/...-transfer-market-final-roster-spot/678452002/

But the Aces' fans got bad news today. Holsten spurned Evansville's offer and has decided to attend St. Joseph's University.
