..everyoone expected to sign has - now we wait to see what more happens this signing period - it lasts 'til next Wednesday
no surprises and no late additions thus far...

Evansville gets a commitment from Class of 2018 PG Jomaru Brown - was offered back in August and visited UE in October.
He has not yet signed his Letter of Intent

..and SIU also got one from a kid playing in St. Louis at a tiny school with a total enrollment of 78 students - but he has not signed yet.

The Aces still have 3 open Scholarships but they will likely hold one for senior Solomon Hainna who is expected to get a medical redshirt for
one of his years at juco and then be available next year.

Junior Christian Williams, who left Iowa 3 weeks ago, will transfer to Indiana State.
He will transfer at the semester break, sit out 2 full semesters per NCAA rules, and then will become eligible at the semester break next season and should have 1?? seasons left to play.

Ronnie Bell committed to Missouri State and signed his Letter of Intent to Missouri State in November....to play basketball in fall of 2018

However, he played football this fall for Park Hill HS, had a great season and started getting some offers to play football.
Yesterday, he committed to play football at MICHIGAN - so I suppose that leaves Missouri State with an extra open scholarship for next fall.

occasionally I like to see how other teams' recruits are doing ....but i found something odd........

Missouri State has a signed, incoming recruit for 2018 named Grant Gelon,
Gelon was a high scoring sharpshooter from Indiana who spent his freshman season at IU playing for Tom Crean.
When Crean was fired, Gelon transferred to State Fair Community College (MO) and planned to play a year of juco ball and go thru the recruiting process again.

Which he was doing and he signed last fall with Missouri State.

Then in the first month or two of the season he was really good!
up thru early December - he was averaging about 20 ppg and hitting over 50% on 3's
One game he went off for 6-11 on 3-pt shots and another game he was 6-8 from the arc!!

then something happened and he started having games where he went 1-7, 2-10 and even a couple where he went SCORELESS!!
Suddenly he was a completely different player - shooting poorly and barely able to crack into the scoring column.
I cannot find a single mention anywhere as to what was happening but it sure isn't good for Missouri State

..now his average has dropped to just 11.5 ppg and then- suddenly he hasn't even played the last several games....

I can't find any reports of what's up - but he's not even on their roster any more.

That doesn't prove anything but I guess if he doesn't finish junior college that would put a hamper on whether he'd be at Missouri State next year.
This is a HUGE BLOW since one other of Missouri State's 2018 recruiting class has already reneged!

Freshman stats 18.7 ppg, 3.5 rpg - averages 6 3-pt attempts per game
Sophomore stats 22. 8 ppg, and over 7 3-pt attempts per game
Lake land got knocked out of the NJCAA Nationals in their first game but Jefferson didn't play due to illness.
He is a 6-2 sophomore from New Albany IN

When they get this kid on the floor with Keyshawn Evans, Yarbrough, Bruninga, Williams, Copeland and/or Tinsley, there's gonna be some 3-balls launched!!


So- this pretty much confirms someone else is leaving because they don't seem to otherwise have a scholarship

He was just released from his NLI after an earlier commitment to Cal State Northridge. They just fired their head coach Reggie Theus.
 
so who on their current roster isn't gonna be using a scholarship next year?
does Gassman go back to walk-on?...is Copeland qualified & eligible? ...is Romine or Hein a goner or Yarbrough going pro?
