2019 BU soccer

Bradley soccer wins today 2-1 at Western Illinois in their last non-conference match of the year.-

BU soccer is now 6-6-4 overall, and 4-3-2 in the MVC. They play their final scheduled game Saturday, Nov. 9 at home against Evansville (2-13-1, 0-9).
The MVC Tournament starts Wed. Nov. 13 at Loyola.
Bradley is currently in 3rd place, with a chance to finish 2nd with a win over Evansville, and a Loyola loss at Valpo. Missouri State is undefeated and has clinched the #1 seed-

The MVC Men's Soccer Tournament starts tomorrow (Wednesday, Nov 13) in Chicago on the campus of Loyola, and runs through Sunday, Nov. 17 (see schedule below).
#3 seed Bradley's first match is Wednesday, Nov. 13 at 4:00 pm against #6 seed Evansville. Bradley beat Evansville twice during the regular season, but both matches were close. Bradley won 1-0 in Evansville, then won 2-1 in Peoria.

Here is the bracket/schedule. All the games are on ESPN+-

Wednesday, Nov. 13 - Quarterfinals (Chicago, Ill.)
No. 4 Drake vs. No. 5 Valparaiso (ESPN+) - 1 PM
No. 3 Bradley vs. No. 6 Evansville (ESPN+) - 4 PM

Friday, Nov. 15 - Semifinals (Chicago, Ill.)
No. 1 Missouri State vs. Winner of DU/VALPO (ESPN+) - 1 PM
No. 2 Loyola vs. Winner of BRAD/UE (ESPN+) - 4 PM

Sunday, Nov. 17 - Championship (Chicago, Ill.)

Congratulations to Bradley junior forward Gerit Wintermeyer, who was just named Player of the Week by the MVC.
He also was named National Player of the Week by College Soccer News-

Wintermeyer had 3 goals last week, including 2 game-winning goals to help secure the #3 seed for Bradley.

Bradley scores at 14:18 to take a 1-0 lead! Goal by Jack Lang, his first of the season. His shot went off a Loyola defender's hand and into the net.


Edit; the final stats now shows that the Bradley goal which was previously credited to Jack Lang, is now posted as an "own goal" by Loyola. The shot by Jack Lang did deflect off the Loyola defender's hand, but appeared to be headed for the open left side of the goal, and IMO would have been a goal even if it did not hit the Loyola player's hand.
