Nice for Evansville and their new head coach Walter McCarty. He should be a good MVC player.
Cunliffe was a consensus 4-star recruit out of high school in Seattle in 2016-
http://verbalcommits.com/players/sam-cunliffe

Evansville will be his 3rd school so far in his 2 year college career. He went to Arizona State, but only spent 1 semester there. Then he transferred to Kansas. After sitting out 2 full semesters, he only played 1 semester at Kansas, then decided to transfer again. He will have to sit out another full season, and will be eligible in the fall of 2019. Because of his multiple transfers, he will lose a full year of eligibility, and have 2 years left if he stays.
Here is a summary of his travels-
www.bradleyfans.com/vb/showthread.php?p=825141038#post825141038

It is interesting that when left Arizona State, he claimed it was because he needed to "return home for personal and family reasons", yet Kansas is much farther away. Then when he left Kansas, he said he wanted to play back home in Washington, yet Evansville is about 500 miles farther away from his home in Seattle than was Lawrence, Kansas.

they also land 2019 Nate Ferguson, a kid Bradley had been recruiting

thanks- I really haven't tried to track who has how many openings, since I wasn't really sure about who was a walk-on (Sturtz, Jones..)
but I will try to amend the list...

seems Drake really needs to land more size...Tremell Murphy will need to be guarding guys 3-4 inches bigger and if McGlynn is out, they won't have anyone else with experience who is over 6-4 or 6-5

Abdou Ndiaye will now be a RS Freshman in 2019-20
http://bradleyfans.com/vb/showpost.php?p=825139476&postcount=149

he becomes the 5th expected scholarship player at ISU that will not play this year. If they get an injury or two, they will have a very short bench.
Last year we heard all kinds of alibis about how hard life was and how the breaks were not going well for the Redbirds because of all their injuries and ineligibilities..
but seriously, isn't that fully on the coach? Every coach in DI gets the same number of scholarships and virtually every team has injuries - but if you recruit a bunch of players who are not eligible to play, and who YOU KNEW in advance had eligibility issues, and who simply can't play at the DI level (can't rebound or shoot only 8.7% from the arc) and end up getting benched mid-way thru the season - then you have nobody to blame but yourself.
Even the casual fans on BradleyFans were aware of the eligibility issues Copeland, Ndiaye and others...
Then you throw in all the huge recruiting mistakes bringing in unstable multi-transfers like Banyard, Griffin, Clayton, Jerron Martin and Romine...then please stop blaming bad fortune and karma for having to play walk-ons..

thanks - some of the estimated scholarship numbers may be off as they are holdover numbers from before guys may have left...

UNI had 3 guys - McDermott, Lohaus & McCloud - leave with eligibility remaining and McDermott was supposed to use one of the scholarships but left without much fanfare at the end of July

Yes, that is correct. McCloud went to Minnesota St, Lohaus plays baseball at Mt Mercy now, and McDermott is at Coe College.
