2020 and Beyond Recruiting Targets

Da Coach on 7/28/19 said:

We were the first to report that Bradley had been recruiting the Kwiecinski brothers from Loyola Academy in Wilmette, IL., though our coaches never offered scholarships.
Jordan Kwiecinski committed to Drake in mid-August-

And a short time ago tonight, Bennett Kwiecinski committed to Siena-

Another new name in addition to the ones recently posted...

2020 Jarrett Hensley- 6'8" skilled left handed big man, originally a 2019 recruit, but reclassified as a 2020 recruit and is currently doing a post-grad year at Link Year Prep school in Branson, Missouri. He is originally from Shawnee Mission, Kansas, and played last year at Shawnee Mission North HS. He has also played at Leavenworth HS, and he played for Mokan Elite summer team.

Recent BU recruit Jarrett Hensley just committed to UNC-Greensboro

My cousins went to Nicolet and it's a great school. It's also the high school of Joah Tucker, who transferred out of Bradley his sophomore year and led Wisconsin-Milwaukee to the Sweet 16.

Yes, Joah Tucker was a recruit by Jim Molinari in 2001. He showed good promise his freshman year, but then he went home on Spring break after that freshman season, scrimmaged with some buddies at UW-Milwaukee and returned to Bradley and told BU he was transferring. He told Ken Kavanagh that 1st year head coach at UW-Milwaukee Bruce Pearl saw him scrimmaging (that alone is a violation), and approached him about transferring (also an illegal tampering violation). Kavanagh appealed to the NCAA, but by the time the NCAA got around to investigating, Tucker and Pearl both denied there was any illegal contact, and the appeal was rejected.

Bruce Pearl cheats??? I am stunned by this news!!!

It really is sickening how often BU gets the shaft from the NCAA.

One new name- this recruit was on an unofficial visit today (Sat. 10/5) at the Bradley open scrimmage at Renaissance Coliseum.

2021 James Dent- 6'4" shooting guard who is a junior at Springfield Southeast HS this year. He is an emerging talent who has not gotten much publicity yet, but that will probably change this season

Bradley is now recruiting a teammate of a previous recruit, Kobe Johnson, at Nicolet High School in suburban Milwaukee.
Bradley now following 2021 James Graham III- a multi-skilled athletic 6'6" forward at Nicolet HS. He is also a close friend of recent Bradley commit Darius Hannah

A premium recruiting site reports that Bradley is "serious" about their recruiting of 2021 forward Graham III. He missed the summer travel circuit due to injury, but is now back to 100%.

Graham thinks his next offer could come from the Missouri Valley.
“I think Bradley is pretty serious,” he said. “They just tell me to keep working.”
Graham has no favorites at this time....
“I want high academics,” he said. “My mom wants me to go to a good school. If I don’t get to another level, I’ll be set for life.
“I’m looking for a program where I can play four years, somewhere I can have fun.”

Some new names Bradley has recently shown interest in-

Central Pointe Christian Academy in Kissimmee, Florida has several players with D1 potential, including these 2020 recruits:
2020 Luis Rolon- 6'3" point guard originally from Puerto Rico.
https://www.maxpreps.com/athlete/lui...ball/stats.htm
2020 Jonathan Aybar- 6'9" forward originally from the Dominican Republic.

2020 Victor Rosa- 6'6" shooting guard, originally from Puerto Rico-
http://verbalcommits.com/players/victor-rosa
2020 Johan Crafoord- 6'9" forward from Sweden.

2021 Quani Rudd- 6'5" guard from Mount Vernon HS, Mount Vernon, Illinois.

2020 Koby Jeffries- 6'3" point guard Koby Jeffries of The Skill Factory prep school in Woodstock, Georgia. Bradley has already offered him a scholarship. There are rumors he recently visited or that a visit is imminent.
He was profiled here.

2021 Ben Schwieger- new name Bradley is following... he is an outstanding shooting 6'5" guard from Waubonsie Valley HS in Aurora, IL.

Update on another one of Bradley's 2020 recruits 6'8", 225 lb. Terrance Thompson of LaCrosse Central HS in Wisconsin.
https://www.prephoops.com/2019/08/th...s-recruitment/

It is a premium article, but he says he has 10 offers going into is senior year. He says he has not focused much on his basketball recruiting because of playing football....
....but right now I like Duquesne a lot,” Thompson told Prep Hoops Wisconsin. “I really like their coaching staff. I’m going to take an official visit out there for sure.”
Thompson holds other offers from Bradley, UW-Green Bay, Grambling, Illinois-Chicago, DePaul, UW-Milwaukee, Texas A&M Corpus-Cristi, Toledo, and Missouri State.
Bradley secured Thompson’s first official visit in early August.
“They run their offense through the bigs,” said Thompson. “The coaches pitched to me that they could run their offense through me when I’m a junior or senior, so I really like that about them.”

Could the commitment of Connor Linke, another big man in addition to the commitment of Darius Hannah last month, affect his decision regarding Bradley? Thompson is more of a close-to-the-basket physical big man, something Bradley doesn't really have. But I don't see our coaches signing 3 big men for 2020, unless one or more of the current guys don't return next year.

We have profiled him on Bradleyfans before-

A new name-
2020 juco RayQuandis Mitchell- 6'4" sophomore PG/SG now at Otero Junior College. He is originally from Blaine High School, in Blaine, Minnesota, the same hometown and high school Patrick O'Bryant came from. He spent his first year at University of Idaho where he averaged 4.4.ppg.
http://verbalcommits.com/players/rayquawndis-mitchell

Through Otero's first 6 games, Rayquandis Mitchell is averaging 18.3 ppg and shooting 51.4% from three, 5 rpg, and 4.5 apg.
https://www.njcaa.org/sports/mbkb/20...ge?view=lineup

Videos- this kid looks impressive-

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XsW-3qgGd5U
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=APQUGphGiug

Note that one of his teammates at Otero is former Peoria Manual HS star and one-time Bradley recruit Romon Douglas-Watkins, who is averaging 14.0 ppg so far through 6 games.
He is listed as a freshman on their roster this season, though he graduated from Manual HS in 2017. He suffered a severe knee injury prior to his senior season at Manual and missed the entire 2016-17 season at Manual. He had a scholarship to Wisconsin-Green Bay, but that was revoked and he never played there. He then signed to play at a junior college in Iowa, but wasn't able to play there either. So he has taken the last 2 full years off to rehab his severely damaged knee. Last May, he accepted an offer to play at Otero, and he seems to be putting up good numbers. I hope he can finally land at a D1 school.
https://www.bradleyfans.com/forum/sp...739#post486739
Otero is 6-0 so far, and is averaging 98 points per game.

New name that Bradley has offered-
2021 Kacper Klaczek- 6'8" athletic forward who is currently a junior at Long Island Lutheran HS, in Glen Head, New York. He is originally from Poland.

And he played this past summer for his Polish U-18 National team in the FIBA U-18 European Championship.

Here is an interesting name I saw. This is not a Bradley recruit, but there is a Bradley connection.....

One of the top players in Illinois for the class of 2023 (high school freshmen) is Jeremy Fears, Jr. of Joliet West HS.
https://twitter.com/scottybscout/sta...15808653152257

YouTube video-
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2H8YyLjkPJE

How many fans remember his father, Jeremy Fears, Sr.?
He was a terrific player out of Joliet (Joliet Township HS) who played 2 years at Ohio U. (2004-05 and 2005-06) and was a star.
But then he left Ohio U. and committed to transfer to Iowa State. However, he reneged and instead transferred to Bradley when Iowa State fired their head coach Wayne Morgan. He was at Bradley for 1 year (2006-07), but left before he ever played for Jim Les. I heard there were personal issues.
https://bradleybraves.com/sports/men...emy-fears/8172

But I recall that he had a young child that year when he was sitting out at Bradley because his girlfriend sat right behind the bench (in the section I sit in) at a few games that season with the child. But after leaving Bradley, he finished his career playing for a Division II school University of South Carolina-Aiken. He averaged 17.3 ppg for them in 2007-08 -
https://pacersports.com/sports/mens-...emy-fears/2614

After leaving USC-Aiken, it looks like he played several years for multiple teams in Europe-
https://www.eurobasket.com/player/Je...lcons-BC/46287

Anyway, if the son is just starting his freshman year and already has several offers, and is being recruited by and is visiting a Big Ten school like Wisconsin, he must be pretty good.

Wow, yeah I remember him committing. I was very high on him, and thought he was the kind of scorer who could take us to the next level.

The one thing I remember Jeremy Fears for that Bradley fans never got to see-
When he played at Ohio University, sometimes after big home wins, he would do an acrobatic backflip on the court (similar to when Ozzie Smith of the Cardinals first came onto the field).
Here is a photo of him-
