2022 NCAA Tournament

Loyola makes it to a 10 seed and will play Ohio State the 7 seed., a very winnable game for the Ramblers.

Other games of interest: Illinois is a 4 seed in the South Region and will play 13 seed UT-Chattanooga of the Southern Conference. Illinois better be on upset alert. Loyola is in the bottom half of that region. In the same bottom half 21-22 opponent Colorado State is the 6 seed and they play 11 seed Michigan, 1 of the 9 teams from the Big Ten. 21-22 opponent South Dakota State is the 13 seed in the Midwest Region and they will play the 4 seed Providence. Future MVC member Murray State is the 7 seed in the East Region and they will play San Francisco.

NCAA Bracket-

Loyola is a #10 seed playing #7 seed Ohio State in the South Regional. The game is in Pittsburgh on Friday, March 18.

It has been truly March Madness so far. #2 seed Kentucky loses in OT. A lot of people were picking Indiana to be the 5/12 seed upset. Wrong. They lost to St Mary's by 29. TWENTY NINE! The other 12 seeds however did a whole lot better. Iowa was upended by Richmond and New Mexico State beat U Conn. There were 3 30 + wins including North Carolina, who led by 28 at the half, pounding Marquette. The Madness is upon us!

Survive and advance! Future MVC member Murray State moves in to the round of 32 as they survived a scare from San Fransico to win 92-87 in OT. They will play St Peters who upset Kentucky in OT.

Three of the nine Big Ten teams that made the tourney are already out at the end of the first day of Round 1. I still think it would be much more exciting and more fair to include a few more mid-major regular season conference champs than the middle-of-the-packs (or lower) of the "Power 5."

I agree. However you know the NCAA favors the power conferences. There is a new word for these type of people now, Oligarchs. Huh, kind of like the same type of dictatorship as somebody else

Can't finish at the basket, can't make free throws, too many turnovers. Great defensive effort for most of the game, but it is looking like we've seen the last of Loyola in the Valley. Meanwhile, incoming Murray State has a golden chance to make Sweet 16.

A lot of time left but can Loyola be playing any worse right now.

Final score- Ohio State 54 Loyola 41

Loyola played terribly. They shot 26.8% overall and 28.6% from three, and they were 3-10 (30%) on free throws. They were outrebounded 41-31, and had 14 turnovers. The only thing that kept the game from being an even more lopsided blowout was that Ohio State was just 1-15 from three and had 17 turnovers. (credit LU defense)
Loyola did not do anything to boost their national reputation, and were a bit embarrassing for the national audience to see the "best of the MVC".

It would seem Loyola emptied their tank at Arch Madness. I can't help but think BU would have been more competitive, but then, I may be a little biased.

For sure DaCoach. When your best player is 1 for 10 from the floor and 1 for 6 at the line your not going to win most games unless someone else steps up which no one did. What an embarrassment for the Valley today. Go Murray State!

Loyola couldn't buy a basket. They missed a ton of bunnies in the paint. Watching that game was conflicting. I want the Valley to do well. But since they're quitting the Valley I don't care if Loyola ever wins another game. But I'm not a Big Ten fan either, so I wasn't rooting for THE Ohio State.
