Yeah I don't understand this. This is an NCAA-sponsored tournament and they worked so hard to create this NET ranking system...and then they don't use it for the NIT?![]()
Welcome to the hypocrisy of the NCAA

I'm shocked we weren't bumped from the tournament to make room for Minnesota or Ohio State.
The Big Ten also-rans have split their 2 gams so far in the NIT...
#8 seeded Michigan beats Toledo, the #1 seed and champion of the MAC 90-80-
https://www.espn.com/mens-college-ba...meId/401526872
Michigan was a #3 seed in the NIT.
Hofstra, the champion and #1 seed from the Colonial Athletic Association beat Big Ten #9 seeded Rutgers 88-86 in OT-
https://www.espn.com/mens-college-ba...meId/401526876
Rutgers was a #1 seed in the NIT!
Both those games, like at Wisconsin, were on the home court of the Big Ten team.
NIT results from Wednesday-
https://www.espn.com/mens-college-ba...ype/3/group/98
#4 seed Florida is dominated at home by UCF, 67-49
#1 seed Oklahoma State, the top seeded team in the entire NIT trailed Youngstown State most of the game, but rallied to win 69-64. The game was played at Youngstown State.
#1 seed Clemson lost to Morehead State of the Ohio Valley Conference 68=64
#3 seed North Texas easily beat Alcorn State 69-53
#4 seed Cincinnati beat Virginia Tech 81-72
#2 seed Sam Houston, the runner-up in the WAC conference, beat Santa Clara 58-56
#3 seed New Mexico was beaten the winner of the WAC conference, Utah Valley 83-69
#1 seed Oregon easily beat UC Irvine 84-58
So 2 of the #1 seeds were eliminated in the first round (Rutgers on Tuesday, and Clemson on Wednesday), of the other two, OK State barely survives, and Oregon won easily.
The #2 seeds went 3-1 with Wisconsin, Vanderbilt, and North Texas winning, and New Mexico losing.
#3 seeds went 4-0. and #4 seeds were 2-2.

For those who say the gap between the P5 and mid majors is getting bigger this tourney seems to be indicative that it isn't. In fact it seems UCI and Bradley are the only mid majors that have laid an egg against the P5.
It is true that P5 teams haven’t faired well in the NIT. However, the P5 teams in the NIT finished in the bottom half of their league standings. For the most part, they are played against the regular season champions of mid-major conferences. I wonder how the bottom half of the MVC would fair against these same P5 teams.
I will still say that Wisconsin game would have been different if we played at home, maybe not a win but still ticked we got screwed.
Wisconsin was a tough matchup for Bradley. They are fundamentally sound, get to the line often, and play solid defense. You beat them with good shooting from outside (they tend to collapse the middle). And shooting 22% from 3 won’t cut it. Had we shot closer to 40%, it would have been a very close game as that would have opened things up for our inside game more too.
