It's been a long time since the NIT championship has generated this much interest. Hinkle Fieldhouse on the campus of Butler University in Indianapolis is sold out.
The 2 finalists- the #1 overall seed Indiana State (32-6, NET 28 ) vs. the #1 seed from the other half of the NIT bracket, Seton Hall (24-12, NET 67)
The game is on ESPN at 6:00 pm Central, 7:00 pm local time. Indiana State is a 3.5 point favorite - https://www.espn.com/mens-college-basketball/scoreboard/_/seasontype/3/group/98

This should be a great game and I think both of these teams are better then some of the at large teams that got bids into the NCAA Tour.

After maybe playing their worst 16 1/2 minutes of offense this season, 10 turnovers and shooting near 40%, ISU Blur made 4 of their last 5 shots and held Seton Hall scoreless to end the half in an 11-0 run and tie the game at 39.

A late 8-0 run, including back-to-back threes by Conwell (he's now 1-8 from three) and Swope, has put Indiana State up 77-70 with 2:54 left in the game.

Looked like Indiana State was fouled about three times on the last possession with no call...pretty hard one to swallow for their fans I would imagine.

Man it's too bad Conwell didn't see Kent under the basket all alone at the end. Probably had time to get the dunk in or even a layup.

Thought ISU Blue shot the ball way too quick in the last 3 1/2 minutes of the game. They should have been trying to take as much time off the shot clock as possible with a 7 point lead. Credit to Seton Hall for making the tough shots down the stretch. Thought on their with under :50 to go Kent panicked after getting an offensive board and forced up a shot that hit nothing but air and leading to a great drive and finish by Dre Davis to put them up 2. Thought ISU waited to call a timeout with 8 seconds to go then Swope forced up both shots he got and somehow got a 3rd chance to win it but Conwell, as he was most of the night, was short on his shot, ending his night 1-9 from 3. There was some amazing passing from both teams in this game and both teams played their butts off. Both should have made the NCAA tournament.

Definitely different schools of thought, but after watching several of their games, I would assume Schertz decided to go with what got them there.

Tough way to lose for the Mores in front of the Indy St. faithful. Man I feel for those players right now. They'll rise back up.

Josh Schertz said he was inspired by everything his Indiana State team did this year!!! It was a Heart breaking loss, but his Indiana State team's Run to the NIT Championship game will live on as his team inspired a community and this country!
