2025 and beyond recruits

Not that we ultimately need to be worrying about 2025-26 right now, but that is a ton of scholarships to fill. Hopefully over the course of the year we get some really great guys for that team but it's a little scary seeing how "final year" heavy we are.

Maybe Burch and JJ will be a superstar crew though and we can just build around them. Atlason also has a ton of potential - guys don't always get it year one but you can tell when they have talent.

Yes we are going to be Senior heavy next year. With all these transfers filling spots there should be some good high school players available. Be nice to bring them in and ease them into the college game

I noticed that, too. That senior-heavy roster is one reasons Bradley should be one of the top, if not the top, team in the MVC in 2024-25. But it depletes the roster the following year (2025-26). It appears as of now, that only 5 players are on target to return in 2025-26 (Atlason, Jonovic, Burch, Johnson, and van der Knapp). None of them are likely to be among Bradley's top contributors in '24-'25. Hopefully, our coaches land 2 or 3 more transfers with the open scholarships this spring, who have more than one season of eligibility left. Otherwise, it looks like '24-'25 could be a rebuilding season.

Yes the 3 open scholarships are very important to not only this season but the next one as well. I would like to get players that have at least 2 years left at Bradley. Hoping we get at least one committed by the weekend.

Bradley interested in 6'4" Jeremiah Hernandez of Southern Indiana. He spent 2 seasons at Kent State, and 2 seasons at Southern Indiana. He is originally from Chicago St. Viator HS. Bradley recruited him in high school. - https://twitter.com/jakelieberman2/status/1773416262845997475

Good because signing day begins wed.

For the record... high school and junior college recruits are allowed to sign National Letters of Intent, but not transfers from one 4-year school to another are not eligible.

So as of now, Bradley will expect to receive NLI's only from Jaquan Johnson and Timoty van der Knaap.
Transfers like Zek Montgomery and Connor Dillon are eligible to sign scholarship agreements, though those do not have any binding effects like an NLI does.

Last year, there were reports that the NCAA and the NLI organization were going to make some changes, one of which was to include transfers in signing NLI's. But the earliest such a change would take effect is in the 2024-25 year if it happens. - https://www.cbssports.com/college-f...hletes-beginning-in-2024-25-cycle-per-report/ (see 3rd bullet point following the 2nd paragraph)

A couple new 2024 names Bradley has recently been in communication with-
2024 Michael "Isaia" Howard- 6'6" shooting guard from Plattsburg HS in Plattsburg, Missouri. He was previously committed to North Dakota State, but he just withdrew his commitment today. He was a prolific scorer in high school, totaling over 3,000 career points. He averaged over 34 points per game as a senior.

2024 Patrick Rowe- 6'7" wing at Chisago Lakes HS in Lindstrom, Minnesota. He is another prolific scorer from a small school who averaged over 30 ppg his senior year. He has been contacted by a dozen or more D1 schools, but there are no reports of offers.

Bradley has been in contact with another portal transfer- Jackson Paveletzke- a 6'2" guard originally from Kimberly High School in Kimberly, Wisconsin. He ended up committing to Wofford College in South Carolina. He had a great year there as a freshman, starting all 33 games, and averaging 15.1 ppg, 2.7 rpg, and 3.7 apg. He shot 49.3% overall and 39.3% from three. He transferred to Iowa State a year ago, and his sophomore season at Iowa State didn't go as well. He averaged only 10.5 minutes per game off the bench, 3.4 ppg, 1.0 rpg, and 1.0 apg.
So now he is in the portal again, looking to transfer a second time. The Bradley coaches are familiar with him from some recruiting contact when he was in high school.

I’m sure Schertz will tell him all about how Jayson Kent wasn’t wanted at BU and how Schertz recognized his talent and turned him into a star.

Haha, yes, that might be the only good recruiting pitch he can try. SLU will be an awful team for the next couple years now that none of his Indiana State players followed him there.

Rumor has it that Jayson Kent didn't follow Schertz to SLU because he didn't recognize his talent. :|

3/14/24 recruiting news continued.... (see above posts)
Bradley is recruiting 2024 juco Isaiah Dorceus at Daytona State College in Florida. He is a 6' freshman guard who would have 3 years of eligibility if he is a qualifier. He is originally from Orlando, FL. Daytona State was ranked among the top jucos this season, and finished their season with a record of 28-3. - https://dscfalcons.com/sports/mbkb/2023-24/bios/dorceus_isaiah_xe3t
