Slight correction and explanation why the last post here was removed... Malevy Leons played at Mineral Area Community College, not Mobery Area CC.

Bradley did have one player who came from Moberly Area CC- Jermaine Morgan. He was recruited by Chin Coleman (his former high school coach at Whitney Young HS) and Geno Ford and played only one season at Bradley 2014-15 - https://bradleybraves.com/sports/mens-basketball/roster/jermaine-morgan/9158

Jermaine Morgan's stats for 2014-15- 2.5 Pts, 2.7 Reb, 0.2 assists
Morgan left Bradley after the 2014-15 season when Geno Ford was relieved of duties and Coach Wardle was hired.
He finished his college career with one season at Division II Kentucky Wesleyan University.
He also served as an assistant coach at Chicago Harlan High School.

Additional names-
2025 Cedric Taylor- 6'10" forward at Huntington Prep in Huntington, West Virginia. He is originally from Sweden and has played club basketball in the city of Lulea, Sweden.

Davius Loury is more of a strong forward who would be an immediate impact player in the MVC. He is a freshman at John A. Logan junior college. He played at Chicago Kenwood HS and also at Donda Prep Academy. He reportedly has nearly 20 offers, mostly mid-majors. There are reports that Illinois and Oklahoma (Porter Moser) have offered, but those are probably contingency offers, meaning they hinge on which players will return next year, or whether those schools can do better in the portal.

I just saw on X, the Braves have offered 2027 Quinton Kitt.
6'5" SF from East Peoria.
He says this is his second D1 offer.

Bradley began recruiting Quinton Kitt back at the end of last summer. The sophomore from East Peoria had a nice summer with Chicago Meanstreets program and has had a terrific sophomore season at East Peoria, carrying them to a 20-8 record so far, including wins over multiple state ranked teams, including Peoria HS and Morton.
Kitt had 34 points in the Morton win, and earlier, he had 32 points and 20 rebounds in a win over Dunlap.

Last night, East Peoria lost a close game for the second time this season to Metamora 56-51, and immediately after the game, Coach Wardle offered Kitt a Bradley scholarship. He has 2 offers now (the other from Illinois State), but he will get more.

Does anyone remember who Bradley's last player from East Peoria was? (hint: he was on Bradley's roster from 1997-1999)

Bradley could really be great in the next several seasons if we were to land some good inside players.

Portal activity at this time of the year is definitely interesting.

Jim Vershaw?

Jim Vershaw?

Yep. :) Jim played 2 seasons at Spoon River College after graduating from East Peoria HS, then transferred to Bradley. He was a walk-on for the 1997-98 and 1998-99 teams, and a great guy. He got into 4 games each season.

something to think about....

Flashback-
several years ago, the name Quimari Peterson came up
https://www.bradleyfans.com/forum/s...nd-beyond-recruiting-targets/page3#post487747

He's an "undersized" scoring guard but very talented...
Bradley did then offer - and in fact, I recall that we were the first DI to offer him...
..but prob dropped off somewhere and Peterson landed at Indiana State, obviously Josh Schertz knew he could score...

He didn't play much as a freshman at Indiana State mainly due to injury but because they had Cooper Neese, Julian Larry, Xavier Bledson, and few other decent scorers
and also had high scorer Courvasier McCauley & also Jayson Kent transferring in.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WnCP_OhfK_g

So - He transferred out looking for more playing time and finally landed at ETSU after a year at juco.

He is now one of the best scorers in the nation
19ppg, 4 rpg, 4 asst, and 2 steals/game and hits 40.4% of 3-pointers - and almost 80% on FTs

too bad we didn't get the guy- https://www.espn.com/mens-college-basketball/player/_/id/4897465/quimari-peterson

BUT.....because of the recent NCAA juco waiver, Peterson does get an extra year of eligibility. I sure hope he hits the portal,
and our staff takes a close look at him.
